🚗 Keeping Your Car in Top Condition! 🚗

One of our customers recently brought their car to us for a timing belt replacement and a full service to stay on track with its maintenance schedule.

🔧 What We Did:
• Replaced the wet timing belt (lubricated by engine oil) using our specialist tools. The kit included a new water pump, which was also fitted.
• Carried out a full service, ensuring everything was in working order.
• Took the car on a long road test to confirm the repairs were spot on.
• Finished with a successful MOT test!

The customer was thrilled with the results and left with peace of mind knowing their car is running smoothly and reliably.

🚗 BMW Z4 - Roof Locking Issue Resolved! 🚗

We recently had a customer bring in their vehicle due to a roof that wouldn’t lock. After a thorough investigation, here’s what we found and how we fixed it:

🔍 Investigation Findings:
• The roof motor was saturated with water, caused by blocked drain holes. This led to the motor shorting out and failing.
• A hall sensor was also damaged by condensation from water ingress, preventing the roof from completing its operation.

🔧 What We Did:
1️⃣ Updated the customer with our findings, costs, and repair timeframe.
2️⃣ Replaced the faulty roof motor and damaged hall sensor.
3️⃣ Cleaned out the blocked drain holes and added extra drainage around the motor housing to prevent future water build-up.

✅ Outcome:
The roof is now fully operational, and our preventative measures ensure long-term reliability. Another happy customer back on the road!

“Restoring a British Classic 🚗 ”

We were thrilled to be trusted by a well-known recovery service to bring a classic Mini back to life after some serious overheating issues. Here’s how we transformed this iconic car into a high-performance dream:

🔧 The Diagnosis:
• Overheating, coolant loss, and low compression led us to strip back the cylinder head.
• We discovered discolored components, scored piston walls, and corrosion caused by long-term inactivity.

🚗 The Plan:
• After consulting with the customer, they requested a high-performance engine upgrade while retaining the original block and cylinder head.
• We partnered with a local specialist to supply a bespoke modified block for the upgrade.

⚙️ The Work:
• Fully rebuilt the engine and gearbox, replacing all gaskets and optimising wiring for a tidier engine bay.
• Diagnosed and resolved an ignition issue caused by aftermarket wiring.
• Honored the car’s heritage by painting the engine red, just like its original!

🛠️ The Result:
• After road testing and final adjustments, the Mini was ready for its proud owner.
• The customer is thrilled with the performance and enjoying every moment behind the wheel of this British classic!

Engine warning light on ? Car running rough? Then get in touch!

This customer did, we got the car into the workshop and ran a diagnostic test using BMW software. This revealed a misfire on cylinder 1. Carrying out the visual inspection we found an excessive amount of oil in the cylinder from where the engine oil had previously been topped up and gone through the seal. When removing the coil packs we noticed it was broken.
Advised the customer of our findings they authorised the repair. Undertook a road test and the car ran smoothly with now warning light.

This customer contacted us as the car was juddering when braking and there was an oil leak. First we investigated the oil leak and found the engine rocker cover gasket had failed. Oil from the engine had been leaking out of the failed gasket down the back of the engine onto the Diesel Particular Filter (DPF). This was then causing a smell to travel into the cabin of the car.
We put the car in the air and found the front suspension brake reaction arm bushes were excessively worn. This caused the judder when braking at higher speed. We advised the customer of our findings. They authorised the repairs.
When stripping the engine to access the rocker cover gasket we discovered 4 out of 6 injectors had failed due to water damage. The drain hole was blocked causing water to flow on to the injectors. This meant the parts had also corroded and were now seized. So we had to spend extra time and use specialist tools to remove the seized parts. The water had also corroded and seize the bolts which meant they broke when being removed. We advised the customer of our findings and the solution. They authorised the additional work.
We replaced the gasket and seals, cleaned up the area affected by the leak. Carried out an extended test drive. The customer was very happy with the work undertaken.

Customer called as she wanted a second opinion. The garage that looked over her car advised it would need a lot of repair work and a new turbo costing in excess of £2,000.

I asked her to give me details of the cars issues. She advised the car had:
1 an oil leak
2 burning smell inside the car
3 lots of smoke coming from under the bonnet

The customer didn’t have the confidence to drive the car as it was, so I agreed to have an initial look at her home. I found multiple oil leaks around the turbo and the oil filter housing.

I provided her with an estimate for a replacement oil feed pipe to the turbo, down pipe from the turbo and replacement oil filter housing gaskets. The customer was happy with the estimate so booked in for the work to be done. I collected the car for her as I was aware she didn’t want to drive it as it was.

We undertook the work on the car and advised the customer of some other routine work she would need to factor in. The customer is very happy and very relieved that it cost a lot less than she was initially advised.

Customer was recommended by a family member as their BMW had multiple oil leaks and was not not running as smooth as usual. We checked over the car and found it was leaking from the rocker cover gasket and brake vacuum pump. We also discovered a broken breather pipe, broken intake pipe to the turbo and a coolant leak from the water pump. We replaced all the parts and gave the engine bay/ under tray a good clean. Carried out a road test and carried out a further inspection on the car. Customer asked for a service to be added on whilst in, which we were happy to facilitate. All running nice and smooth, no oil leaks ready for the customer to drive back to Wales.

This car came to us with a coolant leak which the customer was having to top up/ check before every journey. Their usual garage was unable to get them booked in any sooner then 8 week. We were recommended and when contacted we were able to make a plan with the aim on getting the car back sooner than expected.
We bought the car into the workshop topped up the coolant level pressurised the system and then checked over to find the source of the leak. We were able to obtain the genuine part the next working day. We fitted the new pipe, added some new coolant and bled the system to release any trapped air. Carried out a road test - contacted the customer to confirm the leak has been rectified. This was completed within 24hrs of receiving the part. Another happy customer!
