Some cars are just fun.

They don’t need huge power, endless gadgets or acres of space. They make you smile before you have even got in and few cars do that quite like a classic Mini.

We’ve been working hard on re-imaging what a Classic Mini EV should be.

And now we can offer a complete, finished Electric Mini from £39,995.

Classic looks. Modern usability. And a lot of fun in between.

Already have a Mini you love? Conversion available too!

More to come over the next few weeks… ⚡

Summer sun. Roof down. Stunning views and roads that seem to go on forever.

Some cars are made for days like this.

Life’s too short not to drive something that makes every journey feel special.

Think an EV conversion means saying goodbye to everything you love about a classic? Not necessarily 👀

You can still have a manual gearbox, still get that classic driving experience, and still enjoy the character that made the car special. The difference is what’s happening underneath. A simpler electric drivetrain means less engine-related maintenance and, ultimately, more time enjoying the car rather than fixing it.

That’s what we’re trying to achieve with our conversions at RetroElectric: keep the things that make classic cars special, and change the things that make them difficult to live with. ⚡️🏁

Some roads are too good to rush.
Windows down. Summer sun. Endless corners.

This is what classic motoring is meant to feel like, just now with an electric heartbeat⚡

One of the biggest questions we get asked is: How much does an EV conversion actually cost?

The honest answer? It depends.

Every RetroElectric conversion is built around how you’ll actually use your classic, which is why we offer different conversion packages to suit different needs and budgets.

Whether you’re looking for a reliable weekend cruiser, an everyday classic, or a high-performance EV with rapid charging and extended range, we’ll help you find the setup that’s right for you.

The most expensive option isn’t always the best one. It’s about building the right car for you.

If you’ve got any questions about converting your classic, drop them in the comments or send us a message. We’d be happy to help.

How long does it actually take to charge one of our converted classics?

This Caddy arrived at the charger on 34%, I plugged it in, went for some lunch, and came back 38 minutes later to find it sitting at 89%.

That’s enough time to stretch your legs, grab a bite to eat, and get back on the road.

Could you see yourself daily driving a classic EV? ⚡🚗

Originally, the VW Caddy was built to be a practical workhorse. Reliable, versatile, and ready for a hard day’s work.

Now? It’s even more capable.

Our electric conversion doesn’t just replace the diesel engine with an electric drivetrain. It also unlocks a whole new level of functionality. Thanks to the high voltage battery pack, this Caddy has built-in 240V plug sockets in the load bed, meaning you can power mains appliances and tools wherever you are.

Builders can run power tools on site.
Mobile businesses can power equipment without a noisy generator.
Weekend adventurers can boil the kettle, charge bikes, run a projector, or… watch the football from the middle of a field. ⚽☕

No generator. No idling engine. Just silent, usable power wherever the road takes you.

It’s still a Caddy. It just does a lot more than Volkswagen ever imagined.

What would you plug in first? 👇
