Everyday brings something new in The Super Sport Shed

This is even a new one for me, accelerator pump diaphragm installed completely wrong. Amazingly this bike did run fairly well, but multiple homemade modifications to the carbs caused them not to shut off on idle.

All rectified and fit it back on the bike and running like a dream.

As a side note, as we move into winter and bikes go into storage, many of you will be looking to have work carried out by us. At present we are booking into early next year so please be aware that there will be lead times on many jobs that we carry out.

If you need us to look at something, please get in touch. Either through Facebook messenger, email or phone?

Thanks
Leo

It's not all engine and carbs down at The Super Sport Shed, we also carry out general maintenance and recommission works.

This came in with operational brakes, but needed some love. I've swapped out the pads and changed the fluid and they are back to tip top (for a CBX) condition. And as per usual, I'm also doing the carbs!

We stock a vast range of brake parts for both the Z and Prolink models.

It's been a busy few weeks in The Shed, and the keep coming in!

Back to work with a bang after another summer holiday with the family!

Once again thank you for all the orders while we were away. The online shop is a massive part of the business and helps me carry on working on the engines and carbs.

Back on the workshop side, a very good member of the Honda cb1100r club has sent over a tool to help us extract the studs on a set of CB1100r barrels. We were chatting a couple of weeks ago and he suggested that a tool he has might work and it's always fun to try something new.

Stay tuned to see how I get on!

We've hit the ground running after our first family holiday of the summer. Thank you to everyone who ordered while we were away and hopefully the majority of you have now got your orders.

On the workshop side, it's been a busy week of carb rebuilds. The pictures below. So what modern fuel is doing to carburettors. There was a leak from the fuel inlet brass hose as you can see the o-rings are a little past their best. And it didn't get any better inside the float bowls. These will get a full strip a dip in the ultrasonic cleaner and then we'll be reassembled with all new o-rings.

We also have some new items on the website which include pressing slow running jets. These are aftermarket items and have come from a very reliable source on the continent. These are up on the website and the link is below.

As another reminder, I will be at Oulton park on the 14th of August, I will be taking a few days off after the weekend to spend with the family as well.

Just a quick reminder that we will but shut for some R & R from Wednesday the 22nd of July

This Honda CB1100r is in for a variety of work including an upgraded starter clutch. You can see from this video that the bolts on the existing one had worked loose which it calls starting engagement issues. We have a modified Yamaha R6 starter clutch to fit, so this won't be an issue.

It's always worth checking these bolts and it's fairly easy to take the cover off. If you're careful you can save and reuse the gasket!
