The team are currently in Lake Taupo enjoying a day of R&R, back on the road tomorrow to Rotorua. So far we have covered 2678 miles, and seen stunning scenery all the way ! WT has performed as WO Bentley would have wished, only a few school boy errors from yours truly slowing progress slightly. Bentley cars are amazingly powerful and so compliant to work with all day even at 100 years old they are still a pleasure to drive.

Rain has definitely stopped play today so here is a belated update from Friday:

Today we headed into Glenorchy, every drive more spectacular than the last! A group of us took the Dart river jet boat up river 350 hp twin Chevy motors, 700 hp and 80 kph up river, wow what a rush that was! The Dart River staff were fab lots of happy Bentleys headed back into Queenstown this evening.

Cars are all doing well, from Dunedin down to Invercargill is a fabulous drive, the countryside is rural and rolling with roads we can only dream of in the UK, Invercargill is our Southern most stop, so we detoured on down to Bluff and climbed Bluff hill. Sounds easy but wow .. what a climb and worth it as we were greeted with an incredible view of Stewart Island. Tonight we went to the Bill Richardson Museum, a must see experience for anyone interested in NZ and it’s history in transport beautifully put together and presented - next leg tomorrow up to Te Anau

Old cars are never predictable, WT has been a bit “crook” so had to visit the local NZ Bentley doctor, after a thorough examination and a bit of tweaking WT is back in rude good health. Bruce McIlroy and his guys in Ashburton (Bentley Service) just South of Christchurch were amazing, what a garage, Rolls Royce’s and Bentley parts service everything you could ever need ! We headed South and after a few hours we’re back into Dunedin for dinner - New Zealand is a great place for vintage motoring almost as good as Norfolk …

Here we are today in Christchurch picking up our cars and prepping for the first leg, cars all set drivers champing at the bit ! Shake down drive out to Akaroa today, William we should be passing through Omaru down to Dunedin on the 25th staying in Dunedin until the 28th, come a find us ! OR just listen 18 old Bentleys and one Lagonda they tend to let you know when we are about !

A New Year and new adventures with Blakeney Garage, we put the old Bentley into a container in September and she’s been bobbing her way around the world for the last four months … we get reunited tomorrow along with 18 other Bentley’s and their owners for a tour of NZ !
Looking forward to seeing hearing and driving it again just what owning an old car is about not simply having but the experience it brings … I’m just so excited at the adventures awaiting us !
