Also fixed an sos warning light fault wich was illuminated on the dash
The sos 🆘 fault was a back up battery fault that is located in the telematics unit ,
The telematics unit requires constant power to operate the gps signal so that an emergency call can made in the event of brake down or an accident. The dash instrument has to be stripped out to replace this battery and the basic settings reset via diagnostic software for the old fault to be reset once replaced.

We dont just do mechanical repairs here at the workshop, we also carry out leisure vehicle installs
We had a vw t6 campervan in with a failed solar panel.
We supplied and fitted a premium quality 175w solar panel, a new victron solar controller, connected via app for useful voltage readings and charging management, also a new leisure battery was installed
The customer can use his campervan totally off grid with the no worries of having no power

Timing (wet) belt
Did you know that your Peugeot/ citroen or even your vauxhall and fords have a timing belt that runs inside your engine with the oil. Aka wet belt
These belts are seeing premature deterioration and in worse case failure
Due to the belts breaking down and possibly causing oil starvation in the engine. Resulting in engine failure and massive engine repair costs.

Good morning and happy new year

Are first week back after the festive period and its cold one 🥶 in the work shop

This week we have had a great volume of bookings resulting in the workshop diary filling very fast.
We now have limited booking slots available now for january. We have Only a few slots available for the later part of this month
This will have a knock on effect for febuary
If you know you have any routine maintenance work or an mot that is due please book it in with plenty of notice (preferably upto 3weeks notice)
I hate having to let anyone down but i can only accommodate jobs accordingly
So please to avoid disappointment please make your bookings in advanced

Marsdens of blackburn will tomorrow close at 12pm for the festive period
We will re-open monday the 6th of jan

Please note we will be making a slight change to our opening times in the new year. The new times will be:
Mon - thurs 8am - 5:30 pm
Fridays 7am — 1:30 pm
Weekends closed

This week has been the week of the engine management light
We have had 4 different vehicles in with the dreaded light on all related to ad-blue system faults
Peugeot partner - new adblue tank
Citroen berlingo - nox sensor fault
Citroen c4 - ad-blue injector fault
Audi Q5 - fault traced to a wiring fault to the ad- blue tank pump
All jobs successfully diagnosed first time and repaired.

Finally found some time to fix an abs fault on my own vehicle. Its been on since January but just never had the time to get round to it , to many customers jobs to get through.
A Diagnostic scan showed a circuit fault on rear right speed sensor. Firstly i inspected the wiring harness around the sensor but nothing obvious. Out came the multi meter. Continuity tests from speed sensor to abs pump showed i had a broken wire somewhere. I started with the wiring harness at the rear wheel and fished out the harness from the back of the rear light stripped back the protective tape and bingo out popped a brown wire. Repaired and retested the continuity and i had a good feed. no more abs fault on the dash nice little Wednesday win 😁🔧🛠️🚘⚙️

Maxda cx5 in for oil pressure faults
After gathering information of diagnostic faults and references from technical service bulletins. We removeved the sump and oil pump to find a heavy carbon deposits in the oil pick up strainer. Wich is 95% blocked. The cause of this is the diesel injector seals have failed in wich blowing back into the crankcase wich then deposits a carbon buildup.
