🏁 𝗕𝗔𝗝𝗔 𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – 𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 🏁

🏆 𝗔𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝟰𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗦𝗩 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗿! 🏆

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻!

The 𝗕𝗮𝗷𝗮 𝟱𝟬𝟬 certainly lived up to its reputation. One of the toughest off-road events in the world, it delivered everything: relentless dust, brutal terrain, high-speed sections, mechanical challenges and some seriously heart-stopping moments!

For first-time Baja competitors 𝗘𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲, it was an unforgettable test of driving, navigation, teamwork and the Segway's reliability.

𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 – 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗨𝗘 & 𝗦𝗦𝟭 (𝟳𝟬𝗸𝗺)

Starting towards the back of the field as complete novices meant one thing… 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖!

Ed drove strongly in the prologue, but a broken-down Can-Am blocking a narrow section after a water splash cost us around 30–40 seconds, leaving us 102nd overall heading into SS1.

The first 70km stage was absolutely wild! Thick dust made overtaking incredibly dangerous, and we were quickly learning to trust the Stellar 3 electronic pace-note system.

A couple of mistakes, including an overshoot and a moment over an embankment in the dust, kept things interesting, but we made it home without damage.

The result? We clawed our way up from 102nd to 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟳𝟴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹! 💪

𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬 – 𝗦𝗦𝟮: 𝟮𝟳𝟬𝗸𝗺 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗙𝗙-𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦!

The big one. Hundreds of kilometres of punishing terrain, dust and relentless concentration for both driver and navigator.

Within the opening kilometres, we clipped a tree. Thankfully, no significant damage. Then came a near-rollover on a 90-degree left-hand corner, despite the instruction not to cut it! Ed caught it just in time, and we reversed our way out of trouble.

At 111km, disaster nearly struck. Running in heavy dust, we hit a tree hard. We honestly thought the race was over.

𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗚𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗞𝗘𝗣𝗧 𝗚𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚!

The car came away with what appeared to be largely superficial damage, and the incredible service crew carried out running repairs at the refuelling stop. We were back in the race!

At around 170km, the team checked the car over again, and we headed back out. Ed then turned up the pace, catching two cars and flying through the next section. Jamie even had to remind him a few times about that 140kph speed limit! 😂

We then came across a rolled Polaris blocking the track. Thankfully, everyone involved was okay, and the car ahead helped get it back onto its wheels.

The dust remained brutal, making it essential to balance speed with visibility. Then, during a deep water crossing, the Stellar navigation system decided it had had enough and switched off!

Ed had to drive blind while Jamie rebooted the system and found our position again. Not exactly ideal!

After the final refuelling stop at approximately 212km, we decided to bring it home safely. We caught an ATV just 5km from the finish, but a mistake through a neutralisation zone resulted in a three-minute penalty.

Finally, we reached the spectator zone, with huge jumps, massive crowds and an incredible atmosphere. After all the drama, we crossed the finish line!

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦 🏆

🥇 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱𝟬 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 – 𝟰𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟰𝟰𝟭 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀

🏁 𝗦𝗦𝗩 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 – 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵

💥 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱-𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗿, 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴!

For our first Baja, we're absolutely over the moon! From starting 102nd after the prologue delay to finishing 48th overall, this was a huge achievement in a world championship field.

𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗚𝗪𝗔𝗬 💪

This weekend proved just how capable the machine really is. Tree impacts, deep water, relentless terrain and hundreds of kilometers of punishment — yet we made it to the finish.

It's safe to say this is no longer just an affordable side-by-side. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳-𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗿!

𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 ❤️

Huge thanks to 𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗼 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 and the 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 team for their incredible support and hard work, especially keeping us in the race after that big hit.

And, of course, the amazing wives, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 and 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗱. Without their support, none of this would have been possible. ❤️

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧?

An incredible first Baja, lessons learned, a car we believe in and an appetite for more!
