Wet belt Monday, low mileage 4 yr old van, oil light coming on, low oil pressure warning. Oil strainer partially blocked with debris from a deteriorating wet belts. Likely deteriorated faster due to the nature of usage, not suited to town driving and short journeys. Stripped cleaned thoroughly and new parts fitted and good to go.

How lucky was the owner of this vehicle, booked in for a cam belt change and not a moment too soon.

A month, week, day or hour later and it would have been a much more different conversation about cost.

If in doubt get it changed and never assume it’s already been done by a previous owner.

Wet belt Monday and in the nick of time,

1,2 pure tech engine in a Corsa with just 40k on the clock.

Lack of maintenance has almost cost the owner far more than they saved by not having it serviced.

Please be advised that due to an orange fat bloke starting a dispute in the far east and the cost of lubricants and oil based products rocketing we have had to increase our charges for such products. We apologise for this it but has increased so much we cannot absorb it anymore.

With luck the Americans will put an adult in charge and it will end soon.
