Three electric vehicle (EV) organisations have called on the Government to introduce a nationally recognised battery State of Health certificate for dealer-sold used EV’s.

Electrifying.com, New AutoMotive, and Battery IQ argue that buyers should get the same transparency about an EV's battery condition as they expect from an MOT certificate, service history, or mileage record when buying a petrol or diesel car.

🚗 Supporting research found that 38% of drivers would be more confident buying a used EV if provided with an independently verified battery certificate.

📢 The Government has announced that over £47 million is being invested in 33 automotive projects in the UK.

Aimed at accelerating the development and commercialisation of next-gen vehicle technology, this funding is part of the Government’s £4 billion DRIVE35 programme.

It supports the UK’s zero-emission transition while strengthening domestic manufacturing and supply chains.
