Mechanic required- £13 per hour

We are an independent garage based near central Birmingham looking for enthusiastic technicians to join our team.

You will be responsible for all types of maintenance, service, and repairs to cars.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, show the ability to work to deadlines and targets, whilst always being a team player.

Duties include but not limited to:
Carry out repairs and services to multi brands of vehicles.
Assist less experienced members of the team.
Have working knowledge and experience of larger and more complex engines.
Conduct regular maintenance of automotive vehicles.
Meet with clients to better understand their concerns and identify the issues.
Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
Examine engines, gear boxes and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
Perform vehicle assessments and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing MOT inspection.
Applicant must work in a clean and tidy manner and keep their workspace clean.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Qualified mechanic and relevant vehicle qualifications with experience working in varied workshop environments.
Have worked as a vehicle technician, service technician or equivalent role with experience of mechanical / Service repairs including all servicing, cambelts, braking, gearboxes, clutches and suspension components
Experience using desktop and mobile computer, diagnostic tablet devices.

Hours of work are:
Monday - Saturday: 09:00 - 18:00.

Job description
We are situated near central Birmingham. The job involves servicing and repairing vehicles, fault finding, diagnostics and MOT work.

You will need to have at least 3 years experience in the motor vehicle repair industry or Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance. Other suitable qualifications will be considered.
