No radio, satnav etc

We scanned the vehicle to find the MOST network completely online

After looking over the dealer wiring diagrams, we traced the fault to a rodent damage control module connector

We were contacted for a suspected immobiliser issue

We carried out a vehicle assessment and found no communication with the engine ECU

Performed our standard tests on required powers, grounds and communication lines to to module to determine the main power missing

Fault traced to main power cable corroded

Cable repaired and vehicle back up and running

Multiple fault warning lights illuminated on the dash

No communication with multiple modules on the Body CAN communication line

Out with the dealer wiring diagrams and Pico scope to test the network at fault

We isolated the fault to a section of loom and then began the strip down to find the faulty wiring sections where corrosion had taken place

(Whilst working on this we also found this vehicle had been subject to vermin damage too - something we’ve seen an increase of lately)

The wiring was repaired and vehicle operating correctly again

This is a good example to people who ask ‘how much for a plug in to see what the fault is’ or give us fault codes from a scan tool and ask us to price repair - to show that simply isn’t possible.

Important changes with effect of Friday 25th August, 2023.

The time has come after 20 years to scale back the workshop side of our business and concentrate on our Automotive Locksmith and Diagnostic Company.

We have thoroughly enjoyed building up the business to where we are now and none of that would have been possible without you all, however feel it’s now time to take a step back and specialise.

Bideford and the surrounding areas have many friendly/family run garages that we believe would be happy to take on your custom. Hence we are happy to provide support and help with numbers etc.

We would like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU all so much for your amazing support and custom over the years and look forward to continuing that to the public and trade alike, albeit with a smaller specialised service.

As all of our followers and customers will know - we have spent several years investing and training to push our workshop in the same technical and advanced direction of the modern vehicle

We carry out coding, programming and fault finding on an advanced level for the public and trade alike

As such we have found it more demanding keeping up with the the ‘Normal’ day to day garage work

Due to this we have made the descision to scale back the service, mot and general repair work in order to able us with our specialist side of the business

We have a new website being built which will contain important information for the customer with advice on common vehicle issues from non start to DPF scenarios, along with a contact / booking form for when you have issues and need to get a booking.

Along side this - our highly equipped auto locksmith ‘Key to My Car’ vans are on call 24hours for emergency lost keys situations and non destructive vehicle entry.

We are a family run vehicle diagnostic and repair specialist based in Bideford. Well known for our automotive locksmith ability, coding, programming, diagnostic and electrical work, whilst also carrying out general maintenance, servicing, repairs and MOT’s. We are looking for 2 highly enthusiastic, motivated technicians to join our team. MOT tester an advantage but not essential. We deal with the general public whilst also carry out many diagnostic assessments, coding and programming for the trade. Training can be given to keen individuals who wish to further their career.

Service technician to master technician

2. Apprentice
We are looking for a keen young individual with an interest in becoming an automotive technician.

A recent vehicle we had in the workshop for intermittent non start
Unfortunately someone had already been at this module and carried out a poor repair, overheating the board and burning the pcb pads
We carried out a temporary repair but new unit is now required for this vehicle
We are able to programme a used unit and mileage correct so the vehicle is good to go
