Cold Glue PDR – Quick Pulls That Can Make a BIG Difference! 🔥

Cold Glue has become an incredibly useful technique within Paintless Dent Removal (PDR), especially when you need to quickly reduce a dent and move a larger area of metal in a controlled way.

Cold Glue can be a fantastic first stage of a repair, quickly taking the severity out of larger dents before moving on to more precise PDR techniques.

But there’s much more to getting a successful pull than simply sticking a tab onto the panel and pulling!

Panel preparation, temperature, glue condition, tab placement and understanding where the metal needs to move can all make a huge difference.

2022 BMW i4 M50 Small Dent Repair – No Paint Required

Small dent, tricky location!

Not every small dent is straightforward to repair, and this 2022 BMW i4 M50 is a perfect example.

The damage was a small 10mm dent high on the rear passenger door, positioned between the door handle and the edge of the panel.

Although tiny, its location made the repair challenging. Modern doors contain internal strengthening braces and handle mechanisms, which can prevent safe access to the back of a dent.

🔦 First, we check access.

Using a PDR tool and torch, I inspected behind the panel. Unfortunately, internal bracing meant there was no straightforward or safe route to reach the damage from behind.
🌟 See the image of the inside edge of the door, you’ll see 4 spot welds for the inner brace!

That meant changing the repair strategy…

🧲 Glue Pull Repair (GPR).

Because the dent was only 10mm, accuracy was extremely important. Using specialist glue tabs, the damage was carefully lifted externally without needing to dismantle the door or disturb the original paint.

PDR was particularly beneficial on this BMW due to its pearlescent paint finish. Avoiding a conventional bodyshop repair meant no colour matching, filler or repainting was required, preserving the original factory finish.

After around 1 hour, the dent was removed with a flawless result.

🥶 How to Use Cold Glue for Paintless Dent Removal – New PDR Tutorial

Cold Glue has quickly become one of the most useful techniques in modern Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) and Glue Pull Repair.

But getting consistent results isn’t simply a case of sticking the cold glue onto a panel and pulling!

In my latest YouTube Members tutorial, I take things back to basics and show my real-world process for getting strong, controlled and repeatable cold glue pulls.

Selling a 2022 Audi Q2 with a Bodyline Dent – Original Paint Preserved

Our customer needed this dent repairing urgently before selling his 2022 Audi Q2. Positioned prominently on the driver’s door, it was exactly the type of damage a potential buyer could use to negotiate the price down.
The dent measured around 60mm and crossed the factory bodyline. Bodyline dents are more challenging than flat-panel damage because the pressed styling line creates tighter, stronger metal.

🔧 No interior trim removal required.

During the assessment, I inspected through the window opening and confirmed there were no internal braces obstructing tool access.

🔨 The Repair

After cleaning the panel, I started with Glue Pull Repair (GPR) using hot glue and specialist tabs to reduce the damage. I then worked from behind the panel with specialist PDR tools, carefully reshaping the remaining dent and controlling high spots with a hammer and knockdown until the original bodyline was restored.
After around 2 hours, the dent was removed without paint, filler or replacement parts.

💷 How was the repair priced?

The £318 repair cost was calculated using Dentifier, a new PDR estimating system. It considers dent size, location, bodyline involvement and tool access. Combined with the repairer’s skillset and professional assessment, AI-assisted estimating helps produce a fair, consistent price based on repair complexity.

Land Rover Evoque Hybrid Bodyline Dent Repair – No Paint, No Filler

Think a small dent is an easy repair? Think again.
This Land Rover Evoque Hybrid arrived at our Beverley workshop with what looked like a minor dent on the rear passenger door. In reality, it was a 50mm bodyline crease across one of the strongest and most challenging areas of the panel.
To make matters even more difficult, the damage was positioned at the very top of the door against heavy internal reinforcement, making Glue Pull Repair (GPR) impossible.
That left just one solution…
🔧 Carefully dismantle the door.
The door trim, window cassette and glass were removed to gain access behind the damage. Using specialist Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) techniques, the metal was carefully reshaped back to its original form, preserving the vehicle’s original factory paint.
After around 3 hours, the dent was completely removed without paint, filler or replacement parts.

Today we welcomed our first SMART #3 Brabus into the workshop after it picked up a dent on the tailgate.

These repairs can be particularly challenging because the damage was right on the edge of the panel, an area that is triple-skinned and bonded. Most dents occur on a single skin, making this type of repair far more technical.

Using our specialist Paintless Dent Removal techniques, we successfully removed the dent and reshaped the plastic bumper, which had also taken a slight knock.

The result? This stunning metallic-finished vehicle was saved from a trip to the paint shop, keeping its original factory paint intact. 🙌
