Today marks the end of an era with Daniel Buzzard ❤️
After three years, today is Dan’s last day working with me, and honestly… I don’t really know where to start.
Three years ago, Dan turned up and cleaned his first truck with me at Volvo. Fast forward to today and somehow he’s managed to put up with me for three whole years! 😂
From that very first truck to everything we’ve done since, I genuinely couldn’t be prouder to have had Dan by my side. He’s been absolutely brilliant.
But what I’ll miss most isn’t just having him as part of the business. It’s the friendship we’ve built along the way.
Most days haven’t even felt like work. They’ve been filled with laughter, stupid jokes, taking the mick out of each other, and generally just enjoying life. Somehow, we’ve even managed to get some work done in between it all! 😂
There aren’t many people you can work alongside every single day and genuinely call family, but Dan is one of them.
And it’s not just me who feels that way. Jane sees him as family too. He’s welcome in our house whenever he wants… although I’m pretty sure he stopped knocking on the door about two years ago. He just walks in like he owns the place! 😂
Today is obviously a very sad day. I’m genuinely gutted that he’s leaving, and I’m going to miss having him around more than he probably realises.
But at the same time, I couldn’t be happier for him.
Dan is starting a completely new chapter and following in his dad’s footsteps by joining the Army. I honestly couldn’t wish for anything better for him.
I hope he goes in there, gives it everything he’s got, makes his dad proud, makes his family proud and, hopefully, makes me proud too.
Whatever happens, I hope he knows just how proud I am of him.
Three years ago, I had an employee called Dan.
Today, I’m saying goodbye to a mate, a brother, and someone I genuinely consider family.
The business might be losing Dan, but I know I’m not losing the friendship.
Thank you for everything, mate. Thank you for the hard work, the laughs, the memories, the arguments, the stupidness and every single day we’ve spent taking the mick out of each other.
Go and smash this next chapter. Make your dad proud. Make your family proud.
And most importantly… try not to get yourself into too much trouble! 😂
Good luck, Dan. ❤️
You’ll always have a place here, and you’ll always have a place in our family.
Now go and do us proud. 🇬🇧❤️
