🚪 NEW FOR EHOD 2026: BOTH REAR HANGAR DOORS OPEN!

For the first time, we will open the enormous rear doors of both of our authentic Second World War aircraft hangars, extending the visitor experience into our new rear tarmac compound.

This means even more space to explore, additional aircraft outside and an entirely new perspective looking through and around our two enormous wartime hangars.

✈️ NEW AIRCRAFT AND RESTORATION PROJECTS

Among the latest additions waiting to be discovered are:
✈️ Our recently arrived RAF Harrier GR.9 jump jet — one of Britain’s most instantly recognisable military aircraft
🚁 Our Sea King helicopter
🛩️ Our de Havilland Chipmunk
🛠️ Our fascinating Fairey Swordfish and Miles Messenger restoration projects and more

You can also discover the unique Belfast-built Short SB.5 research jet, which helped test the swept-wing configuration developed for the English Electric Lightning.

AND THERE’S MUCH MORE ACROSS THE WEEKEND:

🚙 The Northern Ireland Area of the Military Vehicle Trust will be displaying approximately EIGHT historic military vehicles in our new rear compound.

🚁 Our Gazelle and Scout helicopters will also be displayed outside in the new rear compound with them.

💃 Swing Dance Community NI and The Jenny Thomas Jammers Belfast performance group will bring music, movement and vintage atmosphere to the event between 12 noon and 2.30pm on BOTH Saturday and Sunday

✈️ Many of our 55+ aircraft and vehicles, with extensive indoor and outdoor displays

🎮 Seven state-of-the-art flight simulators and six VR headsets

🌦️ PLEASE DRESS FOR THE NORTHERN IRELAND WEATHER!

We have two enormous aircraft hangars offering extensive indoor cover, but many displays and activities will be outdoors. Please bring a waterproof coat and wear sensible, preferably waterproof footwear.

Please, just stop and think

To every young person caught up in this growing madness of dangerous driving, stealing cars, taking unimaginable risks and filming it all for TikTok or social media? please stop and think about where this can end.

I know the pressure to get views, likes, followers and a few seconds of fame can feel enormous. But no video, no number of views and no amount of online attention is worth your life, or somebody else’s.

We are living in a world where young people can sometimes be made to feel that simply being themselves, working hard, doing well, learning a skill, building a career or making something genuine of their lives isn’t exciting enough anymore.

It breaks our heart.

You shouldn’t have to put your life in danger to matter.
You shouldn’t have to hurt someone to be noticed.
You shouldn’t have to break the law to be somebody.
And you certainly shouldn’t have to risk never coming home just to make strangers online press a button and watch your video.

Because behind every crash there are real people. Parents who could receive the worst phone call of their lives. Brothers and sisters who could lose someone they love. Friends who could carry that memory forever. And sometimes innocent people who never asked to be part of any of it.

There is no rewind button in real life. There is no deleting the consequences. There is no going back after a life is lost.

Please don’t let social media convince you that reckless behaviour is bravery, or that destruction is entertainment.

Be the young person who has the courage to walk away.

Build something. Learn something. Create something. Play sport. Make music. Start a business. Help somebody. Travel. Work hard. Fall in love. Make your family proud. Find something you’re genuinely good at.

Make your name for something you’re proud of, not for something that could leave another family grieving.

You are worth so much more than a video.

And to the parents, friends and families around these young people, please talk to them. Listen to them. Don’t assume they know the risks. Sometimes one honest conversation really can make a difference.

A few seconds of fame are never worth a lifetime of regret.

Please, young people, choose life. Choose your future. Choose something real.
