30/11/2025

With the end of the year fast approaching, now is the time to make sure you get booked in due to our limited availability.

We'll be operating under normal hours until the 18th of December, at which time we'll turn to limited operating hours.

This will be the first time where we haven't closed for 2 weeks throughout the Christmas period and due to requests over the last few years to offer more availability, our wonderful team will be intermittently available.

19/11/2024

2024 has been another record year at Phantom Tuning.

We've recruited additional staff, moved premises at our Kent branch, added another van to our mobile service fleet, launched new products and services and much more.

All of which is thanks to the hard work and dedication of our team and to you, our loyal customers.

With 2025 on the horizon, it's time for a well deserved break for everyone in the business.

Our last working day for 2024 is the 14th of December and we'll reopen on the 2nd January 2025.

Whilst phone lines will be switched off during this period, management will be periodically keeping an eye on emails, so we may get back to you during our closure period if it's urgent.

Here's to another smashing year. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The team @ Phantom.

09/12/2023

As 2023 draws to a close, we just wanted to give you all a heads-up of our end-of-year hours.

Our last working day is Saturday the 16th of December at all of our branches, and we reopen on the 3rd of January.

At the time of writing, we've got minimal availability for our mobile service (currently covering only Kent and Surrey), with 1 slot left for the 13th of December and a few slots for the 14th of December. Our Kent branch has only 2 slots available for Saturday 16th (our last working Saturday of this year).

We want to thank the thousands of customers we've serviced this year for their business and loyalty, and wish you all a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

If you'd like work done before 2024, this week is your last opportunity and slots will likely fill very quickly.

We'll see you in 2024 with some exciting business developments underway - watch this space!

From the team at Phantom Tuning.

This 2.0 TFSI Audi Q3 came in for our full stage 1 package: Stage 1 ECU tune, gearbox remap and dyno power runs.

We saw fantastic gains across the board. +70bhp and +121nm. We would have expected to gain more power but the customer arrived with a full tank of 95 fuel. We do email our customers a checklist when they book in for dyno sessions, including a request that the tank be full of 99-octane fuel but the customer must have missed it! 😬.

Unfortunately, running lower octane fuel means the ECU will pull ignition timing at the top end, resulting in a loss of potential gains. In most cases, this can cost anywhere from 10-25bhp (sometimes more on the bigger power engines).

Regardless, fantastic results from our tune on the lesser-quality 95 octane fuel with the customer over the moon.

Monster F10 BMW M5 in for a stage 1 ECU tune and dyno power runs! This particular car was a return customer who's BMW 335d we tuned and dyno'd (scroll down our page to see the old post).

After our session, the car made a huge 708bhp and 869nm of torque. That's +126bhp and +157nm.

We saw a dip in the torque curve both stock and tuned and after a discussion with the customer who had only recently purchased the car, we advised him to change the spark plugs. We recommend spark plugs to be changed every 20-30k miles on BMWs and with this particular car running 60k miles, it was likely they hadn't been changed recently.

A few days later, the customer experienced a misfire. We advised again for him to change the spark plugs. After changing the spark plugs, the car no longer misfired and we carried out some data logging the following week to give the customer peace of mind.

Since changing the plugs as per our recommendation, the customer has reported that the vehicle runs beautifully with all of that extra power.

We often see customers claim that their vehicle has 'full-service history' when the car has just had regular oil changes. When tuning vehicles, especially high-performance cars, ensure all serviceable items have been changed appropriately to avoid mishaps and maximise your gains.

Crazy gains from this hybrid BMW 330e! The electric motor twinned with the ever-so-popular B48 2.0 turbocharged petrol unit generated a whopping +87bhp and +157nm.

This particular 330e came in for our full stage 1 package: Stage 1 engine tune, XHP stage 3 gearbox tune and dyno power runs.

TD04 TURBO ABARTH. This highly modified Abarth required our custom tuning session services.

This vehicle featured: TD04 turbo, uprated injectors, 3 bar map sensor, a straight-piped exhaust and more.

This thing was a lot of fun to work on with the customer travelling a few hours to get to us.

We spent all day tuning and logging and completed nearly 40 runs on the dyno.

After initial runs of the stage 1 tune done elsewhere, we could see that, as expected, boost was all over the place with poor boost control, hence making a lot of torque but poor torque and power delivery (to be expected).

By the end of the day, we finished on over 250bhp and over 300nm with power delivery being massively improved.

A lovely return customer of ours brought his new F90 M5 Competition in (which replaced his old F90 M5) for a Ghost Immobiliser install.

We just love Tanzanite Blue on this car (not a personal favourite on other BMWs, but this looks so good).

This is the second install we've carried out for this customer and they have been kind enough to refer us to others over the years.

If you want to rest easy at night, knowing your pride and joy is protected by arguably the best anti-theft device on the market, drop us a DM or give us a call for more info!

We had the courtesy of working on this beautiful 2020 gen 2.2 Audi R8 thanks to the referral from Overkill Performance UK 😆

The excellent chaps Overkill Performance UK carried out a custom exhaust for this owner but needed our assistance to stop the vehicle from going into limp mode.

We carried out our GPF solution, meaning the customer can now enjoy their fantastic new exhaust without any concerns.

This R8 was an absolute pleasure to work on with the owners being equally great to look after.
