Breakfast doesn’t finish at 11am around here.

At Longholme, we serve breakfast all day.

We also care about where the ingredients on the plate come from. We use Bedfordshire meat, source free-range Bedfordshire eggs where possible, and look locally for important produce whenever we can.

So whether breakfast means 9am, midday or well into the afternoon — you’re welcome.

Making the most of the last of summer 🥗

Our menu follows the seasons, and September is your last chance to enjoy our current summer dishes before things start changing for autumn.

Our fresh salads will be around through September, with a brand-new seasonal menu arriving from 28 September.

Coffee is a big deal at Longholme ☕

It’s never been an afterthought for us.

We work with Doe & Fawn Coffee and put a real focus on serving consistently great coffee, properly made by our team — whether you’re joining us for breakfast, stopping off during a walk around the park or simply coming down for your morning coffee.

And just like that, our final special event of the summer is complete. ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us throughout the season — from our summer evenings and special events to our Afternoon Tea dates by the lake. It’s been a brilliant few months, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has chosen to spend part of their summer with us.

Today’s final Afternoon Tea certainly gave us a memorable finale. Everything was going beautifully… until the heavens opened and treated us to an absolutely enormous downpour.

Cue a very wet team, plenty of running around and an unexpected waterside performance for our guests. Safe to say, nobody on the team escaped dry!

Thankfully, spirits stayed high and it gave us a suitably dramatic ending to what has been another fantastic summer season at The Longholme.

A big thank you also to our event partners, Codswollop Fish and Chips and Patisserie Sheree, who have both supported us with catering throughout our summer events. It’s been a pleasure working alongside them, and they’ve played a big part in helping us deliver some brilliant evenings and occasions this season.

And, of course, a huge thank you to our own team who have worked incredibly hard throughout the summer to make it all happen — even when the weather decided to join the entertainment.

While today marks the end of our summer special events, we’re not going anywhere. It’s Bank Holiday weekend and we’ll be open as normal on both Sunday and Monday, ready to welcome you by the lake.

Then it’s into the quieter days, autumn colours and a slightly slower pace.

What an incredible Bedford River Festival weekend! 🎉

As another fantastic festival comes to a close, we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who made it so special.

To everyone who came to visit us over the weekend, thank you for choosing to spend part of your festival with us. Whether you stopped by for a coffee, some food, a boat hire or simply to enjoy the atmosphere, your support means the world to us.

This year’s festival gave us another reason to celebrate. After weeks of planning, building and plenty of late nights, we were absolutely thrilled to be awarded Best Overall Raft in the Bedford River Festival Raft Race! 🏆 It was a real team effort, and we’re incredibly proud of everyone who gave up their time, ideas and energy to make it happen.

A huge thank you also goes to our amazing staff, who worked tirelessly throughout one of the busiest weekends of the year, always with a smile and a commitment to giving everyone a great experience.

We’re equally grateful to our suppliers and contractors, whose support behind the scenes helped keep everything running smoothly from start to finish.

Finally, thank you to everyone who supports us throughout the season. Events like the Bedford River Festival are the highlight of the summer, but it’s your continued support throughout the year that allows us to do what we love.

We’re proud to be part of the Bedford community and honoured to play a small part in one of the town’s biggest celebrations.

We’re taking part in the 2026 Bedford river festival raft race! Competing against other local teams and businesses all for worthy causes, having some fun and entertainment the baying crowds on Sunday 19th July. Come and see us champion the waterways on our home made powerhouse! Buy a longholme hash or a slice of charity cake to show your support with a 0.50p donation from each dish sold being donated.
