RED Driving School Official Page Just to be very clear, I don’t blame any of the individual instructors at RED for this, nor is this aimed at them. ā¤ļø

I completely understand inspiration. I understand seeing someone else’s content, liking the idea and creating your own version - even when that version ends up being fairly similar to the original. That’s part of creating content online, and genuinely, I find it flattering if my posts inspire other people. This, however, felt different. The same points, in the same order, with wording incredibly close to my own, felt less like inspiration and more like taking my work, repackaging it and presenting it without crediting me. Personally, I don’t think that’s something we should just accept - particularly from such a large name within our industry.

I appreciate that the post has now been removed. However, I find it disappointing that it’s disappeared without any acknowledgement of what happened. I’m not going to sit around expecting that to change, but I do hope something is learned from this - and that RED takes a serious look at how content is sourced and created going forward. ā¤ļø

RED Driving School Official Page found it appropriate to steal my content yesterday. A first for me, hopefully a last for them.

I just want to say that I completely understand being inspired by someone else’s content - anyone who creates content finds inspiration from others. And genuinely, if something I post inspires someone to go away and create their own content, I think that’s really lovely. It’s flattering!

But there’s a pretty big difference between inspiration and just straight up copying someone’s work 🫩 At least come up with your own points. Change the wording. Add your own take. RED Driving School didn’t even change the order of the slides. Like, come on?

For a big national driving school, you’d think there’d be a little more value placed on professionalism and respecting the work of fellow instructors.

But maybe that’s just me šŸ¤” For future reference RED - my socials are . Next time you can add that to your post šŸ˜‰

Apparently I have a lot on my mind this week - because what actually is a minor and major fault? šŸ‘€

Would you back restrictions for young drivers? Talking about something I genuinely care about always feels a bit scary. I want to represent this conversation as fairly, kindly and accurately as I can, because the last thing I’d ever want is for the way I communicate it to take away from such an important cause. Graduated licensing won’t prevent every crash, and it isn’t about blaming or punishing young drivers. But if the evidence shows there are ways we could better protect young people while they build experience, I think it’s a conversation worth having. ā¤ļø I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts - would you support it?

Is it time for young drivers to face restrictions? I think yes.

To our young drivers - please, ensure everyone comes home. ā¤ļø A few seconds of adrenaline is never worth a lifetime of consequences.

Join me on the Norwegian safety track! šŸ‡³šŸ‡“ā¤ļø

Norway is widely recognised as one of the safest countries in the world to drive in, and that doesn’t happen by accident. Creating experiences like these build safer drivers. I’m sure of it. It made a huge impression on me when I first did it at 16, and perhaps an even bigger impression now that I’m an instructor.

The safety track isn’t designed to scare, but to build respect for the physics of driving. It’s an experience that’s always stayed with me, even 9 years after initially doing it.

I’d love to see something similar introduced in the UK.

Would you support it?

Happy to announce that Izzy passed her driving test today! 🄳 Izzy didn’t want a pass photo, but was happy for me to share her wonderful news and it’s a result that deserves celebrating!

It has been such a pleasure working with you, Izzy. You’ve developed so much throughout your journey, not only in your driving ability, but in your confidence, judgement and belief in yourself - and that was all proven today when you delivered a smashing drive in some more than challenging conditions. In fact, Izzy drove so well that the examiner praised her for an impressive drive!

I have thoroughly enjoyed every lesson we’ve had together, and I’m incredibly proud of the safe and capable driver you’ve become.

I asked Izzy what advice she would give to someone learning to drive:

ā€œWhen doing your test, think of it as a drive rather than an exam, and get into the mindset that you’re just driving. It’s more important to understand how to handle a situation than to learn test routes.ā€

And what getting her driving licence means to her:

ā€œGetting my driving licence means I have independence and freedom xā€

You should be incredibly proud of yourself, Izzy. Thank you for trusting me, and best of luck as you take on the roads and enjoy all the independence and freedom you’ve worked so hard for! Stay safe!
