Starter motor replacement on this 80s Alfa Romeo Spider today.

Turn the key. Nothing.

Standard diagnostic procedure on an old Alfa: check the starter, check the wiring, then stand back and admire it for a bit because at least they made them bloody pretty.

New starter fitted. Starting perfectly again.

For now. 😂

Iris is back out with me today, proudly rocking the company merch and keeping a very close eye on Pops to make sure I’m actually doing some work.

She’s mainly in charge of quality control, snack breaks and asking important questions at the worst possible moment. 😂

Give it a few more school holidays and I reckon she’ll be running the business… I’ll just be the bloke driving the van. 🤣❤️

PART 6: Apparently It’s Contagious 🚗💥

After several months of taking the p**s out of Sam’s driving, our son in law has decided to show his support.

Drove into the back of a Range Rover.

Car written off.

Range Rover: fine, obviously. 😐

So I’d like to formally apologise to Sam.

Turns out it’s not her driving.

It’s the f**king family. 🤣

At least they’ve got something in common.

Other than insurance premiums.

PART 5: Sam vs. The Van 🚐💥

Quick update on Sam.

After successfully completing her earlier work in tyre destruction, suspension damage, light bridge interaction, and attracting the attention of local law enforcement…

I genuinely thought we were making progress.

We bought the Range Rover.
4 wheel drive.
Parking sensors.
Cameras.
Basically enough technology to land a small aircraft.

Apparently, none of it works on our own driveway. 😐

Because Sam has now managed to drive off the drive…

…and straight into MY VAN.

Not a stranger’s van.
Not a van parked awkwardly around a blind corner.
Not even a moving van.

My van.

Parked.
At our house.
Exactly where it normally is.

She literally knew it was there.

And still chose violence. 💥🤣

Honestly, the van had the tactical advantage of being completely stationary and somehow still lost.

So the current situation:

Range Rover: still finding new victims
Van: caught in the crossfire
Driveway: apparently a high-risk area
Parking sensors: screaming into the void
Insurance company: probably blocking my number
Me: considering bollards around everything I own 💸
Sam: “I didn’t see it.” 😐

At this point, nowhere is safe.

Bridges weren’t safe.
Tyres weren’t safe.
The roads weren’t safe.
The law got involved.

And now even vehicles parked on our own property are being taken out.

We bought her a 4x4 so she could handle difficult terrain.

Turns out the most difficult terrain…

was the fu***ng driveway. 🤣

Thought I’d hold it together for the first look. I did not.

She took my breath away and the tears followed pretty quickly. The photos have kindly preserved the evidence.

One incredibly proud dad. What a day ❤️
