Back from holiday and back to work Monday šŸ”§šŸš

Had a lovely break doing absolutely nothing.

Unfortunately, the bank balance has decided thatā€™s enough of that.

So if youā€™ve got anything that needs fixing, give me a call. Iā€™m available again, against my better judgement.

Either the local wildlifeā€™s getting out of hand or Ringā€™s been on the p**s again. šŸ˜‚

Iā€™ve been a carpenter, roofer, fabricator and audio specialist on this horse box.

Finished the day as a medic after cutting my own finger. šŸ‘šŸ¤£

Quite a career progression really.

Built it, wired it, roofed itā€¦ then became the first casualty. šŸ˜šŸ¤£

PART 8: Excellent. šŸš

Van suspension has gone.

No accident.
No bollard.
Sam hasnā€™t even touched it.

Itā€™s just broken itself out of habit now. šŸ˜

At this point the vehicles are taking the p**s without our help.

Lovely. šŸ’ø

Sunday morning in our houseā€¦

Samā€™s in the shower getting ready for the day.

Iā€™m doing my bit by being completely unconscious.

And Ayrtonā€™s sat there looking like a disappointed father whoā€™s been up since 6am and already done three loads of washing. šŸ¤£

That face says it all:

ā€œMust be nice, mate.ā€ šŸ˜šŸ¶

No idea what weā€™re doing today.

Donā€™t care.

Itā€™s Sunday, Samā€™s awake and Ayrtonā€™s in charge.

Iā€™ll be available for comment after another 4 hours. šŸ˜‚ā¤ļø

Sunny autumn days šŸ‚ā˜€ļø

Crisp air, blue skies, leaves changing colourā€¦

And the sun bouncing off my head like a solar panel. šŸ˜‚ā˜€ļø

Might as well plug the house into me and save a few quid.

No bad hair days though, so whoā€™s really winning? šŸ˜Žā¤ļø

PART 7: Plot twist šŸ˜

Well this is embarrassing.

After months of taking the p**s out of Samā€™s driving, Iā€™d like to presentā€¦

My van.

And the concrete bollard Iā€™ve just scraped it against. šŸ¤£

Before anyone asks, yes, I saw the bollard.

Yes, I knew it was there.

And yes, I still drove the f**king van into it.

So thatā€™s gone well.

Sam, obviously, has taken this news with the maturity and dignity youā€™d expect after everything Iā€™ve posted about her.

Sheā€™s absolutely delighted. ā¤ļø

Iā€™d like to point out there is a HUGE difference between this and everything Samā€™s done.

I just havenā€™t worked out what that difference is yet.

The bollard is fine, obviously.

Concrete: 1
Van: 0
Me: tw*t

Anyway, enjoy the photo.

Iā€™m sure Sam will.

For the next 25 years. šŸ¤£

PART 6: Sam vs. The Gas Board šŸš§šŸ¤£

Wellā€¦ Part 6 has arrived.

This morning the Gas Board had left a stack of barriers next to our drive.

Not across the drive.

Not blocking the road.

Just stacked up, minding their own business.

Sam clipped them. šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Literally just trying to leave the house.

She hadnā€™t even made it onto the road yet.

The journey was about 6 feet old. šŸ˜

I heard the noise and immediately knew.

There are certain sounds you learn to recognise in a relationship.

Your partnerā€™s voice.

Their footsteps.

The sound of them coming through the front door.

And apparentlyā€¦

the sound of Sam clipping something with a Range Rover. šŸ˜

At this point I donā€™t even ask ā€œwhat happened?ā€

I ask:

ā€œWhat have you hit now?ā€

The barriers mustā€™ve thought they were safe as well.

Stacked neatly by the side of our drive, waiting for the Gas Board lads to come back.

Poor bastards didnā€™t even make it onto duty. šŸ¤£

So current situation:

Range Rover: fine
Barriers: initiated
Gas Board: now part of the story
Van: relieved it wasnā€™t him this time
Me: not even surprised
Sam: ā€œI only clipped them!ā€ ā¤ļøšŸ¤£

ONLY CLIPPED THEM.

That sentence is doing some serious work in this household.

At this point Iā€™m starting to think the problem isnā€™t Samā€™s driving.

Itā€™s everyone leaving things where sheā€™s driving.

Stay tuned for Part 7:

Sam Successfully Leaves The Drive.

Hopefully. šŸ¤£
