Tyre blowouts spike in summer and heat is a big reason why.

At motorway speeds, tyres generate huge amounts of heat. Add warm weather, low tyre pressures or worn tread and you're increasing the risk of a failure.

Before any long journey, make sure you check:
✔️ Tyre pressures
✔️ Tread depth
✔️ Any signs of damage

Our roads aren’t exactly getting any smoother, are they? 😬

Potholes, rough surfaces, speed bumps and worn road surfaces all take their toll on your vehicle’s suspension over time.

The tricky part is that suspension wear often happens gradually. You get used to the way the car feels, so problems can go unnoticed until they become serious.

Ever wondered what actually happens during an air conditioning re-gas?

A lot of people think it’s simply a case of “adding more gas”, but there’s a bit more to it than that.

✔️ The existing refrigerant is safely recovered and measured
✔️ The system is tested under vacuum to check for leaks
✔️ Fresh refrigerant is added to the manufacturer's exact specification
✔️ System performance is tested to make sure it's cooling correctly

Over time, air conditioning systems naturally lose refrigerant, which means your A/C has to work harder and won't blow as cold as it should.

If your timing belt snaps… it’s not a warning light situation.

It’s game over for the engine.

Here’s why it matters 👇

Your timing belt controls the precise movement of your engine’s internal components, keeping the crankshaft and camshaft perfectly in sync. That timing is everything.

When it fails:
⚠️ Valves and pistons collide at high speed
⚠️ Internal components bend, break or shatter
⚠️ In many cases, the engine is beyond economical repair

We’re not talking small bills, it’s usually thousands, not hundreds.

The scary part?

Timing belts don’t always give obvious warning signs before they go. No noise, no dashboard light… just failure.

That’s why manufacturers set replacement intervals, typically around 5 years or 60,000 miles (sometimes more depending on the vehicle). It’s preventative, not reactive.

Quick question… do you actually know what your car has for a puncture? 👀

A lot of modern cars no longer come with a full-size spare wheel.

The problem is many drivers don’t find this out until they’re stuck at the side of the road with a flat tyre.
It’s worth checking:

✅ Do you have a spare wheel?
✅ Is it inflated and usable?
✅ Do you know where the locking wheel nut is?
✅ Is your inflation kit still in date?
