🚗 115 years of Chevrolet!

On this day in 1911, the Chevrolet Motor Company was incorporated. The beginning of a name that would bring us classics such as the Corvette and Camaro.

Which classic car would you make room for on your driveway? A gleaming sports car, a trusty Morris Minor or something a little more unusual? Tell us below! 👇

Whatever you drive, Andy is here at Gales Garage for servicing, repairs and MOTs, helping you keep your own pride and joy running as it should. 🔧

If your wipers are making more noise than your radio, it’s time to give them some attention!

Squeaking, juddering or leaving streaks across the windscreen? With all this rain, struggling to see clearly is the last thing you need.

A few little checks can make a big difference:

💧 Keep your screenwash topped up.
🌧️ Check your wipers clear the screen properly.
💡 Check your headlights, rear lights and indicators are working.
🧽 Clean your lights so road dirt doesn’t dull them.

If something needs attention, Andy can take a look and advise on what’s needed. Give us a call to book in. 🔧

Plenty of rain lately… but how ready is your car for wet roads?

Aquaplaning happens when water builds up between your tyres and the road, causing them to lose grip. Your steering can suddenly feel light or unresponsive — a frightening experience.

Help reduce the risk with a few simple checks:

🚗 Check your tyre pressures against your vehicle’s recommended settings.
🔎 Check tyre tread and condition regularly.
🌧️ Reduce your speed to suit the conditions.
↔️ Leave extra space behind the vehicle ahead. Allow at least twice your normal stopping distance in wet weather.

If you do aquaplane, gently ease off the accelerator, hold the steering wheel steady and avoid sudden braking or steering.

We're here to keep your care, and therefore you safe, call if you need some checks done!

Can’t remember when your car was last serviced?

It’s easy to put it off when everything seems to be running nicely. But regular servicing helps keep your car running well and gives us the chance to spot wear and tear before it becomes a bigger problem.

And remember,an MOT isn’t the same as a service. They do different jobs, and your car needs both. 🚗

If yours is due, or you’re not sure where to start, give us a call.

He went on to found the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, helping to preserve generations of motoring memories.

Which car would take pride of place in YOUR dream museum? A classic Mini, a Ford Capri or perhaps the very first car you owned? Tell us below! 👇

And for the car sitting on your driveway, Andy is here for servicing, repairs and MOTs.

On this day in 1997, a car broke the sound barrier!

British driver Andy Green took the jet-powered Thrust SSC to an incredible 763 mph in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert — becoming the first driver to officially break the sound barrier on land.

That’s quite a bit faster than the morning commute! 😂

Your car might lead a quieter life, but it still deserves some care. For servicing, repairs and MOTs, give us a call.

Did you know? The world’s longest car is a staggering 100ft (30.5m) long and has 26 wheels!

Known as The American Dream, this enormous limousine even features a swimming pool, mini-golf course and a helipad. Now that’s taking optional extras to another level! 😲

Fortunately, most cars are a little easier to look after.

If your car needs a service, MOT, repair or just a bit of attention, Andy at Gales Garage is here to help.

That little light on your dashboard isn’t going to get bored and go away…

Tempting though it may be to hope for the best! 😂

If a warning light has appeared, your car is making a noise it definitely wasn’t making last week, or something simply doesn’t feel quite right, it’s worth getting it checked.

Andy can take a look and help work out what’s going on – preferably before that little problem decides it wants to become a much bigger one. You know what to do!
