On This Day...

6th August 1932 the patent application for the drive-in cinema was filed in the USA...The first film ever screened was Wives Beware, a British comedy starring Adolphe Menjou. It played on opening night, June 6, 1933, at Richard Hollingshead’s "Automobile Movie Theater" in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

Imagine pulling up in your favourite classic car, winding down the windows and watching a film under the stars...
