🔧⚡ BANK HOLIDAY BUILD — MERCEDES EV UPGRADE! ⚡🔧

We don’t normally make a habit of working on bank holidays, but this little Mercedes was apparently far too slow to wait until Tuesday! 😂

So, we made some time and got to work on this rather special “EV upgrade”.

First job was upgrading the standard 12V lead-acid battery to a much more impressive Milwaukee 18V lithium-ion setup 🔋⚡ — giving this little machine a bit more enthusiasm and, importantly, allowing for quick battery changes with minimal downtime!

The owner was impressed with the results… but apparently 18V simply isn’t enough! 🤣

So, the next upgrade is already in the pipeline — twin-motor conversion! 🏎️💨

The motors are on order, and we’ll update you once the build is complete.

For now, the customer is making the most of the newly found power and speed!

This BMW 320d 184 Edition came to us for one of our custom Stage 1 ECU calibrations, with the vehicle tested before and after on our rolling road dyno.

📊 STANDARD POWER:
➡️ 184 BHP
➡️ 306 FT-LB Torque

After applying our custom Stage 1 calibration and carrying out thorough dyno testing, the vehicle left producing:

🚀 FINAL POWER:
➡️ 233 BHP
➡️ 380 FT-LB Torque

We had this 2017 BMW 330d in with us for one of our custom Stage 1 ECU calibrations.

From the factory, these vehicles produce around 258 BHP and 410 ft-lb of torque.

Following our custom Stage 1 calibration, this BMW now leaves us producing an impressive:

💥 480 ft-lb of torque

VW Golf Mk6 TDI — Stage 1 ECU Calibration

Another VW Golf Mk6 TDI in the workshop today for one of our Stage 1 ECU calibrations.

The vehicle received a bespoke Stage 1 calibration designed to improve performance while maintaining a strong balance between power, drivability and everyday reliability.

📈 Results:

- +40 BHP
- +60 FT-LB of torque

The increased torque provides noticeably stronger acceleration and improved in-gear performance, making overtaking and everyday driving more effortless.

Our Stage 1 calibrations are tailored to the individual vehicle rather than simply applying a generic file. We take into consideration the vehicle, engine, ECU software and overall condition to produce a smooth and progressive result.

🚨 BMW & MINI 2020+ ECU TUNING — NOW AVAILABLE IN-HOUSE 🚨

We’re pleased to announce a major update to our BMW & MINI tuning services at GJL TUNING CUSTOM REMAPPING.

From next week, we’ll be carrying out ECU tuning on supported 2020+ BMW & MINI models completely in-house, meaning there will no longer be a need to send the ECU away to a third-party facility.

Alongside our latest FLEX capabilities, selected Bosch MDG1 ECUs can now be accessed directly on the bench using the correct pinout connection.

🔧 Supported ECU types include:

• MD1CP032
• MD1CS001
• MG1CS024
• MG1CS049
• MG1CS201

For supported vehicles, this means a much more streamlined process, with bench programming available without physically opening the ECU and significantly reduced turnaround times.

Our aim is to make the process as efficient and professional as possible, while continuing to invest in the latest ECU programming equipment and technology.

This service currently applies to supported BMW & MINI models and ECU types only. Support for other locked ECU platforms has not yet been released, so please contact us with your vehicle details before booking.
