Why We’re Going Cash Only
After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to transition our business to a cash-only payment system. This change is not made lightly, but it’s a necessary step to protect our operations and continue delivering quality service. Here’s why:
1. Increasing Transaction Fees
Credit and debit card processing fees have steadily increased over time, cutting into our margins and making it more difficult to keep prices fair for our customers. These hidden costs add up quickly, especially for small, independent businesses like ours.
2. Rising Incidents of Card Fraud
We’ve experienced a growing number of fraudulent transactions, chargebacks, and disputes related to card payments. These situations not only result in financial loss but also require significant time and energy to resolve.
3. Technical and Administrative Burdens
Card machines are prone to technical issues, downtime, and require constant maintenance. They also bring extra administrative work, from reconciling daily reports to dealing with payment processors and delays in receiving funds.
4. Supporting a Simpler, More Secure Model
By going cash-only, we streamline our processes, reduce vulnerability to fraud, and ensure that every transaction is straightforward and transparent. It also allows us to focus more on serving our customers than managing complex payment systems.
We understand this may be an adjustment, and we truly appreciate your support as we make this shift. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for continuing to support local, independent businesses.
