We’ve recently had an Hyundai I10 in that has been to multiple garages for an EML and loss of power.

The customer had spent money trying to get this fault resolved and it never got fixed.

We carried out diagnostics and found the exhaust cam timing was out of tolerance which was causing the loss of power. We stripped it down and found that the timing chain was excessively stretched and was making contact with the inside of the timing cover. 😱

We got a timing chain kit fitted along with tensioner, guides and crank sprocket. Carried out an oil and filter change, coolant change and a new rocker cover gasket and the engine was back to running like new, no loss of power and no engine management light 👌

Seat Leon 1.6tdi in for a RamAir induction kit fitting.

The customer had fitted the induction kit and stated that the car was going into limp mode, the customer had installed it all correctly so he asked us to take a look.

We found that the T piece adapter on the new kit had a manufacturing fault and was blocked. It was not allowing vacuum at the boost solenoid.

We rectified the fault, road tested the car and all the faults had cleared and no more limp mode.

A Ford Transit connect 1.5 has recently been in for clutch issues.

The customer stated that the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor and had no drive, he got it recovered to us so we could get stuck into it.🛻

We started to investigate the issues and when we started the engine and pressed the clutch you could hear a loud metallic noise, which from experience we knew the flywheel had locked up. Once stripped down we confirmed our diagnosis and found the friction material had completely come away from the clutch plate.🛠️

We got the parts ordered, got a new clutch and flywheel kit fitted using top quality parts and got the van back out to work ✅

These are the best sort of jobs 👌

A 2023 Ford Focus 1.0 ecoboost has been in for diagnostics and repair. The customer stated that the car had been to the main dealer and had been told that the engine needed replacing and had been quoted a substantial amount of money for them to do it.

We carried out our own diagnostics and confirmed that the engine was down on compression on cylinder 3 and had severe borewash.

We sourced a long block and got cracked on, we had to transfer all ancillaries, wiring looms, clutch, gearbox, all the coolant hoses pretty much everything from the original engine onto the new one.

We replaced all fluids with manufactures specific fluids and carried out a service

Once the car was on the ramp we had a total turnaround from start to finish in 2 days.

After the customer having the car unusable for months it is now finally back on the road 👌

No job too big or too small 🙂

We’ve been a bit quiet with posts recently mainly due to been mega busy

But here’s few jobs we have recently done over that last couple of weeks 🛠️

Lovely Focus ST in for a service, a 1993 impreza turbo for overheating issues and the speedo not working, we’ve replaced a catalytic converter on a Citroen C1 due to a failed weld, replaced a thermostat on a Mercedes A200. We had a Golf in for the injector seals and a rocker cover gasket, Mazda 3 came in with a rotten sump so we got that replaced.

These are just a few photos and we are currently on with a big job so we will upload pictures of that over the next couple of days.

A Ford C Max has recently been in for diagnostics and repair.🛠️

The customer stated that he was driving along and he heard a loud bang and the car lost all of its oil and all power.

We carried out diagnostics and found a MAF sensor fault, but the symptoms didn’t match up to a faulty MAF sensor. We carried out a smoke test and found that the plastic end cap on the intercooler had become detached and this fitted much more with what the customer described.

New intercooler fitted, fresh oil and filter change and its now back on the road 👌

Probably the oldest and the cleanest car we have had in 🇬🇧

Fully restored classic mini cooper we have had in for some exhaust work.

It’s a credit to the owner for the upkeep on this one 👌
