Many people believe that resealing windows or awning rails will completely eliminate water ingress, and in many cases it does. However, water can also enter through tiny pinholes or hairline defects in the bodywork or roof that are virtually impossible to detect during a routine inspection.

This is why we can never offer a 100% guarantee on damp repairs. Hidden defects can remain undetected until damaged wallboards and insulation are removed.

The photos from this repair show an example of a minute pinhole in the roof that was allowing both daylight and water to enter. Although almost invisible from the outside, it caused extensive internal damage over time and was only discovered once the wallboard and insulation had been removed.

It's a reminder that even the smallest defect can lead to significant damp issues if left unchecked.
