🐾💚 HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! 💚🐾

Today is all about celebrating our four-legged friends, so obviously we couldn’t let the day pass without giving a special shoutout to Betty… 🐶😂

Betty is the official Beresfords’ Mechanics Service Dog! 🔧🐾

She’s an essential part of the team… although we’re still waiting for her to learn how to use a spanner! 😂

Her main responsibilities include:

🐾 Supervising the mechanics
🐾 Inspecting everyone’s lunch
🐾 Providing moral support
🐾 Making sure everyone gets enough cuddles
🐾 Looking adorable while everyone else does the hard work! 😂

We’re not entirely sure how much actual mechanical knowledge she has, but she’s definitely an important member of the Beresfords family! 💚

Happy National Dog Day to our beautiful Betty and all the amazing dogs out there! 🐶❤️

🚗 MOT PRICES – WHAT DO YOU THINK? 🤔

There’s been a lot of talk recently about MOT prices potentially increasing, and we want to know what our customers think!

MOT testing is an essential part of keeping our vehicles safe and roadworthy, but with the increasing costs involved in running a garage, employing qualified technicians, equipment, training and keeping up with industry requirements, do you think the current MOT price is realistic for businesses?

🔧 The workshop is officially up and running… and it’s been a busy start! 🚗🏍️💚

Here are the first three vehicles through the doors at Beresfords Garage:

🚙 Land Rover Discovery 4
The customer asked us to give the vehicle a thorough health check to make sure everything is in good order. So far we’ve found:
✅ Both batteries were completely flat and are being replaced.
✅ A fuel leak on the passenger side of the engine, which we’ll be repairing.
✅ A full service.
✅ A comprehensive diagnostic check to ensure everything else is operating as it should.

🚗 Citroën DS3
This one came in with an issue that was traced back to a faulty oil pressure control solenoid. Therefore we replaced the oil pressure control solenoid.

🏍️ Honda CBR600RR
A bit of two-wheel action in the workshop! The bike came in for a general check-over and has had:
💚 New bright green silicone coolant hoses fitted.
💧 A full coolant flush and replacement.
⚙️ Customer-supplied rear sets installed.
🏁 Converted to race shift ready for the track.

It’s fantastic to finally see the workshop coming to life and being able to take on the larger jobs alongside our mobile service.

A huge thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their vehicles already. We’re looking forward to helping many more customers in the weeks and months ahead.

Mobile Mechanic

🕗 Hours:

Monday – Friday
8:00am – 5:30pm

💷 Salary:

Competitive – Dependent on Qualifications & Experience + Over time paid generously

🔧 The Role:

You’ll be working from one of our vans, carrying out repairs and servicing at customers’ homes, workplaces and roadside across the local area.

Duties Include:

✅ Vehicle servicing
✅ Diagnostics
✅ Brakes & suspension
✅ MOT repairs
✅ General mechanical repairs
✅ Fault finding
✅ Delivering excellent customer service

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

✔️ Has a recognised mechanical qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent preferred)
✔️ Has previous workshop or mobile mechanic experience
✔️ Can work independently and efficiently
✔️ Has strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
✔️ Holds a full UK driving licence
✔️ Takes pride in their work and customer service

Years of carbon and soot build-up had almost completely blocked the EGR & inlet manifold, restricting airflow and causing poor engine performance.

Common symptoms of a blocked EGR/inlet manifold include:

🏍️ A Day at World Superbikes with Brembo! 🏁

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the World Superbikes with Brembo, and what an incredible day it was!

The hospitality was absolutely first class – a huge thank you to the Brembo team for making us feel so welcome.

As mechanics, it made a nice change to be on the other side of the fence for once, watching the professionals prepare, maintain and repair the bikes between sessions. The level of precision, teamwork and attention to detail was seriously impressive.

It was a fantastic opportunity to see the world’s best riders and teams in action, pick up a few insights, and appreciate the engineering that goes into top-level motorsport.

Thanks again to Brembo & Grant Gourlay at LKQ Euro Car Parts for an unforgettable experience. Days like these remind us why we love what we do. 🔧🏍️

🏁 RACE REPORT – ROUND 4 | BRANDS HATCH 🏁

Another brilliant weekend on track for Buster 💚🏍️

With temperatures soaring above 30°C, it was a challenging weekend from the very first test session. The bike was running hot, but so was the weather! After chasing a few setup changes throughout the day, we were ready to get racing.

🏁 Qualifying
A strong qualifying session saw Buster battling tricky conditions, including a large wet patch on the circuit. After a red flag cut the session short, he secured a fantastic:

🥈 P3 Overall | P2 in Class

🏁 Race 1
A great launch off the line led to an incredible battle throughout the race. Wheel-to-wheel action from start to finish made this one of the most enjoyable races to watch out of the whole season so far!

🥈 P2 Overall | 🥇 P1 in Class

🏁 Race 2
Starting from P5 meant plenty of overtaking to do. Despite charging through the field, the class leader had just edged too far ahead.

🥉 P3 Overall | 🥈 P2 in Class

🏁 Race 3
Well what can we say other than what a race! A hard-fought battle all race long and some fantastic moves ended in the best possible result…

Well done BB74 Racing as always we are so proud of you!

They were 15 marshalls down and Charlotte put her self forward to help out, now if that doesn’t require a shout out then I don’t know what does!
