🎉 6 Years of Andrew Dodds Autocare! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating 6 years since Andy and Carole-Anne opened our doors during the COVID pandemic, a leap of faith in uncertain times that’s grown into something we’re incredibly proud of.

From day one, it’s been a true family journey. Our youngest son Kieran started his apprenticeship straight from school and is now a fully time-served mechanic and a key part of the team.

We’ve also been joined along the way by Willow 🐾, very much part of the family and our unofficial customer greeter.

You may have seen posts about new MOT regulations coming into effect. What does it mean?

Here’s the simple version:

MOT testing stations will now be able to upload photos of vehicles during the MOT test.

The aim is to help the DVSA tackle “ghost MOTs” where an MOT certificate is fraudulently issued for a vehicle that was never actually tested.

The new photo upload system is being introduced in stages. From the 3rd August, more garages will have access to it, but uploading photos is not initially mandatory.

For motorists, this doesn’t change how your MOT is carried out, and it doesn’t mean your car will automatically need extra checks. It’s simply an additional tool to help improve the integrity of the MOT scheme and reduce fraud.

As always, we are committed to carrying out honest, professional MOTs and keeping our customers safe on the road.
