🔧 Timing Chain Fail? Not Always What It Seems… 🔧

Today, two Ingenium-engined cars came in for timing chain replacements… but both failed the relative compression check during our pre-inspection.

Frustrating? Yes — that’s 20 hours of booked work we now can’t do, which effects our efficiencies. Plus an awkward call to the customer.

But more importantly, it’s saved those customers thousands.

💡 We don’t just dive into big repairs. Every timing chain job gets a full pre-check: crankcase pressure test, oil inspection, full system scan, and a relative compression test plus a few extra test.

No point replacing chains on an engine that's already too far gone.

🔧🚗 Double Ford EcoBoost Week! 🚗🔧

A busy week in the shop as we tackled not one, but two EcoBoost challenges! 💪

First up, we had a Ford Ecosport in for a wet belt replacement and a head gasket repair due to a thermostat failure. It’s amazing how a small part can cause big problems!

Then, we shifted gears to a Ford Focus that needed a wet belt and a pair of rear shocks. Keeping these EcoBoost engines running smoothly is what we do best!

🔧🚗 A Busy week in the Shop!

We've had a variety of vehicles in for some serious care this week!

Here’s what we've been working on:

Range Rover Velar: In for an engine replacement as the previous one suffered bottom end failure.

Range Rover Evoque: The timing chain had snapped, so we have carried out a full timing chain replacement, along with a new battery, clutch and brakes

Another Range Rover: In for a timing chain replacement along with a brand new DPF.

Ford Transit: New alternator and radiator as the radiator had started to leak.

Nissan Juke: Timing chain replacement as the original chain had severely stretched and jumped 6 teeth.

We have also had multiple services, MOT's, and diagnostics – making sure everything is running at top performance.

From routine maintenance to major repairs, we’ve got it covered.

🚗🔧 Range Rover Evoque in the Shop!

This Evoque was recovered into us with a suspected snapped timing chain.

Having inspected the vehicle, we have confirmed the chain had snapped. In the process, it has caused additional damage to the rockers

Along with this, the turbo has also failed.

We're currently in the process of stripping down the engine ready for replacing the timing chain and the turbo to get it running like new! ⛓️🔧

Busy week in the shop tackling a range of repairs! 🚗🔧

🔹 Range Rover #1: We have this Evoque in for a timing chain replacement along with the VVT Pulley & Solenoid.

🔹 Range Rover #2: This vehicle was brought in for a diagnostics into an air suspension fault. After replacing the valve blocks and carrying out a calibration, the vehicle is now sitting level.

🔹 Range Rover #3: This final vehicle has been in for gearbox and diff oil change plus the renewal of the timing belt.

Also had some interesting cases:

🔸 Evoque: Damaged rockers from a snapped timing chain 😬 — no worries, we’ve got it covered!

🔸 VW Caddy: Failed turbo? Not for long! Getting that boost back in action!
