Hi everyone. A few changes here. We now have Jake working at this site with us. Many of you will know him as our talented technician from DSA. Well with that site closed Jake is now over at Aylesbury MOT centre. Bringing with him his wealth of knowledge and skill, same high level of service and same questionable workshop singing (those who know, know!). All of us look forward to being of service to you. We have also abbreviated our name for our logo. We are now AMC. L👀k out for our shiny new signs!

6-month MOT exemptions will be ending on 1 August

Today, 29 June, the Department for Transport announced that the 6-month MOT exemption for cars, vans and motorcycles introduced during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, will end on 1 August.

Why is the MOT exemption ending?

We know that many garages stayed open and drivers continued to get their vehicles tested despite the exemption.
As non-essential services start to re-open in line with government guidance, and more vehicles are back on the roads, having an up-to-date MOT will help to keep vehicles safe to drive.

Due to the Corona pandemic and in keeping with government guide lines, we have made operational changes and have decided to run Aylesbury mot from our larger site and sister company DS Automotives.

The address is 4-5 Edison road (the road before Bessamer Crescent. 2nd building on the right).

All phone calls are redirected to DS Automotives.

Also opening hours have changed slightly. They are now 8.30 am to 5pm.

News from parliament today. While this is great news meaning lots of people will have one less thing to organize during these very difficult times we would like to make you aware that our MOT station will remain open unless otherwise instructed and we CAN still carry out your MOT in this time. If you do choose to not renew your MOT certificate during these 6 months please carry out the normal regular checks on your vehicle. We understand not everyone is in a position to do so and most will not have the equipment to carry out checks on suspension and the undercarriage so we are here if you should need us. Your car MUST maintain its road worthiness in this time period with penalties for cars found not to be of the required standard. We would also like to take this time to wish you all well and please stay safe. Thank you.

TYRE SAFETY. We as drivers put alot of faith into our tyres. Day after day they keep us on the road. How often do you think about them and the miles they have travelled with you? Tyres are so easily over looked but are such an vital part of our road safety. The first picture below is a tyre from a car that recently had its MOT test with us! Obviously the tyre was illegal and unsafe. The second picture shows a simple test you can do on your own tyres to get an idea of their tread level. Alternatively we will happily carry out a quick tyre tread depth check for you if you give us a call to pop by. 01296 710927. Please do remember to check your tyre pressures once a week too, always referring to what your vehicle manufacturer recommends for your tyre pressures.
