Weeks 156 to 212 - Luigi is in the final stages of completion, the underside is stone shipped, the inside and outside are painted in the original colour and the component rebuild is underway including the interior, windows, engine and items like the fuel tank. Most of the time now is fine tuning to make the panels fit correctly, making sure the brakes work and the electrics are installed neatly.

From here, we have a final push with a load of new parts arriving from Mark @ Motobambino.... We decided to blend as many old items as possible to keep the soul of the car alive, it would be far to easy to just replace everything with new. So there are some parts that we have simply left with a bit of rust (like the steering wheel). These can be changed at any point but for now the push is to get Luigi done.

Huge gratitude to Chris England at Cross Garage for the minute attention to detail, I hope the promise of a Post Rona Party @ Sul Lago, and the pride in completing this amazing project are enough to keep him motivated to the end....And we hope Aldo Lucci fills the fridge upstairs with Italy’s finest........

We can’t wait for the ‘beep beep’ of Luigi coming up Stannybrook Road, arriving at Sul Lago to a huge round of applause......I’m actually imagining it right now and it’s gonna be great 😍😍😍😍

Weeks 3 to 156 - It’s been a long time since the last update, almost 4 years to be precise, but at the start of the project we had no idea how much work would be required to make Luigi Great again.

After a full strip down (I mean nothing left on the car) we realised that EVERY single panel needed replacing. Wind the clock forward to Feb 20 and the pictures show the progress made and work involved.

With thanks to Greg and the boys at Autotec in Failsworth and Chris England at Cross Garage in Ashton.
