If you own a FLEX tuning tool and want to tune the latest locked ECUs in your own workshop, Korhex is the answer! Korhex is the new add-on for FLEX that uses EMFI (electromagnetic fault injection) to glitch the MCU without needing to remove and refit small resistors on the PCB.

In our latest YouTube video we show how easy Korhex is to use, unlocking a 2022 PSA 1.5 BlueHDi Bosch MD1CS003 ECU and then reading it on the bench.

The 1990s called, they want their tuning back! This C5 RS6 ECU came to us because multiple tuning companies had been unable to programme a car that should be a straightforward OBD read and write.

What you can see here is a security board soldered to the pads the 29F800 flash chip would normally be soldered to and then a decryption chip and an encrypted 29F800.

This was early tuning protection from back in the days of chipping ECUs. The competitor reading the chip directly got garbage. Fast forward to 2026 and with OBD protocols a plenty the security board does little to hide the previous tuners work. The security board has to decrypt the data on its way out of the chip in order that the ME7.1.1 ECU can understand it and run the car. As a result the OBD read is also decrypted as it's dragged out via the security board.

The problem is it blocks programming so needed removing so the customers required calibration changes could he carried out.

Solutions development on this 2022 Mercedes Vito 110 CDI with Bosch MD1CP001 ECU. Unlocked via the Mail-In Unlock service and then flashed on the bench.

This vehicle has been with us a couple of days to let us perfect various tuning solutions for these later MD1 powered vans.
