Kent Kit Car Club

Kent Kit Car Club Social club for Kit Car enthusiasts in Kent and beyond. Meet on the Last Friday of the Month
7:30pm Where possible convoy runs are a feature.

The club provides a focus point where kit car owners and potential owners can meet and interact with other like-minded people. A wide range of interests and tastes are catered for in the club. Some have opted to build a kit from an experienced supplier, whilst others have bought pre-built kits. A few focus on completely home designed specials that are truly unique. The club was formed in 1991 by a

small group of kit car enthusiasts who wanted a regular meeting place and the opportunity to do things together. The club has grown steadily, developing a strong, friendly atmosphere, few rules and the emphasis on socialising and helping each other out technically. There is an entertaining and informative club magazine, "The Grin Factor", sent out to members regularly, free of charge. During the winter season, the club stage indoor events on Club nights. These have included indoor games, presentations by manufacturers and suppliers, talks by the police, quiz nights and other entertainment. The remainder of the year, club nights are about gathering together for a good natter under a bonnet or chassis or over a sensible drink. Other events are organised and have included visits to manufacturers, various shows, motor sport events, treasure hunts, places of interest, track days and driving skills tests. Everybody is welcome to post to this page. For club members there is a dedicated Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/kentkitclub.

Very good meeting on Friday, lots of members and quite a lot turning up in their Kit Cars, 2 new members joined, one of whom was in this very nice 6.3 litre Dax Cobra replica pictured and the other has a very rare Lomax, possibly the only one of this particular model, we will find out more in due course.
Our club also welcomes classics and unusual home builds too, like this hot rod which has been through the IVA test and despite it's lovely well preserved and patinated original body shell has been registered as a brand new car, because underneath it has a completely custom home built chassis and the complete running gear, engine and drive train from a Mazda MX5 NB, quite a feat of engineering.
If you have an interesting vehicle, or just want to come and chat with a bunch of petrol heads, why not come and join us at the Wagon and Horses at Charing 19.30 last Friday of every month, they do great meal too.

Had a great kit car/classic day out on Saturday, my sons and I went to Total Headturners near Harlow in Essex they specialise in selling kit cars and classics, especially Cobras, but as you will see in the pics they have lots of others. They sell quality cars and offer lots of related services, but they are not high pressure, so they are quite happy for you to go and sit in the cars and poke about to your hearts content and even provide you with a tea or coffee. Treat yourself to a fun trip.
