Since then we have undertaken a large number of repaints, as well as small and large restorations. We specialise in the classic to the modern day buses and coaches, providing first class paintwork & panelling work across Sussex and the South Coast. We provide a number of services that include anything from small minor repairs, repaints, re-trimming, re-panelling and any exterior and interior work

to a full restoration. Although we tend to focus on heritage projects, we also provide number of services for commercial fleets including insurance work. Since being established, the quality of workmanship and our attention to detail has been the hallmark of our company, as well as a high emphasis on individual customer attention, making sure every customer is 100% happy with the finished product.

RML2660 was back in the workshop for the first time in 12 years since its full refurb back in 2014 for some light repairs and platform repair.

A bit of colour makes all the difference. ✨

This Ford Transit Custom came to us looking very clean… but very white. The owner wanted something that would stand out from the crowd, so we transformed it with this striking gold finish.

The process started with sealer through the trusty SATAjet 100 B Black Edition 1.4, followed by the gold basecoat laid down with the SATA Jet X 100 Anniversary HVLP 1.3I. Once the colour was looking just right, it was locked in with clearcoat through the SATA Jet X 1.3O, giving it that deep gloss finish straight out of the booth.

It’s always satisfying watching a vehicle go from plain and practical to something with a bit more personality. The gold really comes alive once the clear hits it. 👌

🚍 From Accident Damage to Back on the Road

Not every job that comes through our doors is a full repaint or a new livery. We also carry out a lot of accident and insurance repair work – and if we’re honest, it’s one of our favourite parts of the job.

This Mercedes Citaro from Replacement Bus Hire arrived with significant front-end accident damage, including a shattered windscreen, damaged front corner panels, bumper components and structural front-end parts. Our team stripped the vehicle down, replaced the damaged components, carried out all necessary repairs, prepared everything for paint, and refinished the front end to manufacturer standards before reassembly.

The photos show the journey from accident damaged, through the repair and paint process, right through to the finished vehicle ready to return to service.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking a vehicle that looks beyond repair and returning it to the road looking like nothing ever happened. That’s what we love about accident repair work – every job is different, every repair is a challenge, and every finished vehicle is a reminder of what a skilled team can achieve.

A great effort from everyone involved and another vehicle returned to its owner looking exactly as it should.

A bit of line work, a steady hand, and plenty of masking tape later… 🎨👌

Here’s Keith laying down the new Compass Travel livery on one of their brand-new Irizar i6s coaches. Using his trusted SATA 5500 RP 1.3 and our go-to Sikkens 255 2K, the aim is always the same – a sharp finish and crisp lines that look as good up close as they do rolling down the road.

The best part? Seeing it out in the sunshine at the end of the job. ☀️🚌

What starts as a blank canvas leaves ready for service looking exactly as it should.

Every vehicle that comes through our workshop passes through a lot of different hands before it's ready to leave.

From assessing damage and carrying out repairs to prep, paint and final quality checks, everyone plays their part to make sure the finish is right.

A high-end metallic finish starts with the prep.

Here's how we get a panel ready for a basecoat and clearcoat finish 👇

1️⃣ Clean & degrease

Every panel is thoroughly cleaned to remove grease, silicone and any contamination before prep begins.

2️⃣ Initial sanding

We key the existing paintwork with P320 on a DA, then refine it with P400 or P500. Metallic finishes need a much finer prep than solid colours, otherwise sanding marks will show through.

3️⃣ Prime if needed

Any repaired areas receive a 2K high-build primer before being flatted back with P400 on a DA, then finished with P600-P800 using a soft pad or by hand.

4️⃣ Final prep

Before any paint goes on, the panel is blown off, degreased again and tack ragged to remove every last bit of dust and contamination.

5️⃣ Base & clear

The panel then goes into the booth for 2–3 coats of basecoat, allowing proper flash-off between coats, before finishing with two full coats of high-quality clear.

That's what gives you the depth, gloss and durability you'd expect from a proper high-end finish.

A proper paint finish starts long before the paint goes on.

Here's how we prep a panel for a 2K solid finish 👇

1️⃣ Clean & degrease

Every panel is thoroughly cleaned with a solvent-based degreaser to remove grease, silicone and any other contamination. Skip this step and you're asking for paint defects later.

**2️⃣** Sand & prepare

We sand the existing paintwork with the correct grit, refine the surface where needed and hand-finish edges and tighter areas. If the panel needs primer, we apply a 2K high-build primer before flattening it back to a smooth finish.

3️⃣ Final prep before paint

Blow off. Degrease again. Tack rag. No dust, no contamination. Only then does it go into the booth for two full coats of 2K topcoat.

It's a process that takes time, but that's exactly why the finish lasts.
