It’s with a heavy heart to say that unfortunately after 5 years, I’ll be applying to have the company struck off the register in the coming months.

A few personal issues and a soon-to-be new addition to the family means that my attention has to be diverted elsewhere.

I will be retaining my van and my tools so for those of you that have had work done by myself, I will continue to be around to honour any warranty work if needed.

We’re back!

3 piece clutch kit replaced with an LUK set due to a collapsed release bearing.

Customer reached out after receiving a quote for £1500 somewhere else. Bonkers.

Needless to say they were happy with our quote.

Been quiet recently. Lots of jobs and not in the mood to take photos

Saw a poorly Volvo XC-something today, pi***ng oil out of the crank seal and valve cover gasket

Parts on order ready to be fitted Wednesday and hopefully back on the road shortly after.

Timing belt is a goner due to oil so there’ll be a fresh one fitted as well 👍

Been a busy couple of weeks… not had too much time to post or get any leaflets out so if anyone is needing some work done to their vehicle, we’re here.

Exploded turbos, wrecked suspension, driveshaft boots and seals, alternators blowing up, extracting snapped bolts, un-bodging… and brakes. Lots of brakes.

14 hours on today and I’m knackered, but still taking bookings 📞

Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet… been forgetting to take photos 🤦‍♂️

Wheel hub replaced for our customer on their Land Cruiser today - all work completed at the customer’s house so no meetings were missed! Quick road test afterwards to make sure all was in order and we’re happy with the end result.

It’s handy when you don’t need to sort a lift to and from the garage ;)

Just a quick one today, swapped out a clock spring on a BMW 5 Series with a genuine unit - customer can now enjoy use of the horn, indicators, and steering wheel buttons once again! And most importantly, the airbag will definitely work if the worst case occurs.

Quick set of discs and pads sorted for our customer in today - we’ve got a lot of time for PAGID hardware when it comes to braking

Slider pins lubed, bracket filed smooth, appropriate grease used in the right locations, hub cleaned back to the metal, and the job’s a goodun.

Screeching and judder eliminated and our customer is “genuinely very chuffed”.

Visited our customer in yesterday… excessive smoke billowing from the engine bay.

Popped the inlet hose off the turbo and it’s safe to say it’s been completely obliterated. The fins on the rotating assembly have been bouncing around inside the housing and likely scored that as well. As much as I love wiggling shafts, the lateral play in the turbine was unreal. The charge pipes were swimming in oil… it’s no surprise that the ECU was also complaining of a blocked DPF.

The cause? Oil starvation. Keep on top of your maintenance, people!! Early oil changes are cheaper than a new turbocharger, or potentially a new engine.

We’ll be breaking this turbo apart for a video once it’s off the motor.

Wondering why this Volvo was losing boost… the smoke machine yet again proving why it’s a fantastic bit of kit for any mechanic. Been chasing a lumpy idle on this one for a little bit and noticed that the boost pressure sensor was reading a little low.

Will get this stripped down at a later date and confirm the cause… what do you reckon?

Another cheeky service sorted out in today - all filters changed. Cabin filter looked to be the original which is worryingly common these days…

Dipstick was just glancing the oil - new filter and fresh oil to the correct level is always a good shout 😉

Brake fluid found to carry dangerous levels of water - brakes bled with fresh fluid of the correct spec whilst we were on site.

All suspension, bearings, tyres, and outer steering components checked too

The right equipment makes diagnosis a doddle

Popped out to see our customer this evening in as their Transit dumped its coolant.

Whacked the smoke machine on and managed to find this pinhole in one of the coolant hoses.

Time to get a replacement and get this van holding water again
