A Sunday well spent at the Bicester Motion Scramble.

We’re here as enthusiasts rather than exhibitors this time, enjoying a wander through a remarkable mix of machinery – with, inevitably, plenty of British classics catching our eye.

Events like this are a good reminder that these cars are at their best when they’re being used, shared and talked about.

And as for next year? We have a couple of rather special long-term customer projects taking shape in the workshop. Perhaps we’ll have something of our own to bring along…

First start after a full rebuild and she’s sounding good! The team were monitoring the cylinder head temperature, checking oil pressure along with the engine timing to make sure we are good to go for a long run prior to heading for the dyno.

Stay tuned to see more of this.

For owners bringing cars to Goodwood events, or enthusiasts based locally, Copthorne Classics offers servicing, preparation, repairs, restoration and specialist engineering for Jaguar, Aston Martin, Lotus and other classic British cars. We now also offer specialist services for classic Ferrari.

If your car needs attention before its next event – or some fettling afterwards – come and see us.

From routine servicing to fault-finding, tuning and more involved mechanical work, we offer specialist care for classic Jaguars from our Sussex workshop.

The final piece of the puzzle…

This Jaguar XK150S is receiving a handcrafted stainless steel exhaust from Classicfabs to complement extensive fast road cylinder head work, including Piper cams, upgraded valves and seats, taper valve guides with modern seals, and careful porting.

An engine is only as good as the system around it. With the cylinder head now able to breathe more efficiently, a free-flowing exhaust will help unlock the performance, responsiveness and soundtrack that these upgrades deserve.

Whether you’re looking for an original-spec rebuild or a fast road engine tailored for spirited driving, our workshop can help. Get in touch to discuss your next project.
