It is with the Greatest Honour to Compose this Post Tonight About Just two People who have Dedicated Most of their lives together along with that same love for The East of Scotland Kart Club (Kingdom Kart Club)
Gordon Donaldson And Jill Cu***ng Have Deservedly Been Granted Honorary life time Membership of this Amazing Circuit.
They First Found Us in 1980, there were no signs or google maps back then , but once found.. never forgot !
Just a couple of years later they joined the committee And while Gordon was still racing , they formed that love affair with our track in The East Neuk of Fife . Jill herself raced in 1985 & 86, infact.. Gordon Only won the "S" plate in 1986 because Jill's Engine Seized to deny her the win lol.
Gordon's Father "also called Gordon" along with his son and Jill provided the first miracle of many over a long time, They Dug a 30 inch deep trench from the top of our road all the way down to where our toilet block sits today, this was done by pick and Shovel because just like "google maps" a digger was yet to be created 😂 And then the water supply was created.
That wasn't the end of Miracle's however. This amazing couple then recruited Gordon's younger brother Kevin, And funded by the family, they Refurbished the brick "showhouse" !!! (think about it) 🤪 left by the British Navy , Gordon also Constructed the first ever main gate to the circuit, Unfortunately the Council bin Lorry soon destroyed them .... ( so the council did used to collect our rubbish ?!? ) But a Mystery happened after that and someone else... and we will never know who... managed to save some of the metal poles to build the next set of gates that included the clubs Letters welded in place.
Gordon & Jill went on to do so much for this club until the country went into economic meltdown in 1986 when mortgage rates hit an all time high of somewhere near "circa" (to use one of Gordons favourite quotes) hit 16 or 17% . It was then time to look homeward for a while as so many at that time had to do.
But skip forward to 2007 and until this day, they continue to Give their all to our club.
Gordon & Jill have mentioned so many other People who have shared that same dedication to this club over the many years. It would be unfair to name anyone, as we all know so many others that have contributed to making this club what we are today. Please look at the lists of dates and jobs in the photos attached and
