On Friday we had an early morning run to Salisbury for Tom Bamford’s Mod 2. A cold and wet start but, as you can seen from the photo, it brightened up to celebrate the great news that Tom had done what the examiner needed to give him his full A-licence.
Congratulations Tom, great ride, hope it won’t be long before you find a bike you love and you’re back in the saddle.

After a very soggy day, we’ve just about dried out enough to post this Mod 2 success.

Early on Tuesday Jim Adkins set out to Greenham for his Mod 1 test, not having a clue that the day would develop a bit beyond that.
Having successfully passed his Mod 1, we hit lucky and found a spare Mod 2 test starting within an hour, so with fate appearing to be on his side, Jim jumped at the chance to do his Mod 2. At the point Jim came out to start his test the weather appeared to brighten, ‘so, it looks like we’ve got a good day for it.’
The worst of the standing water had drained and Jim demonstrated to the examiner that even in those sorts of conditions he was a safe rider, so despite the cold, wet, early ride up to Greenham ‘it’s bloomin’ well worth it Guv’nor’.

Congratulations ‘Speckled’ Jim, happy bike shopping, hopefully you’ll be coming home with your new bike today!

(For those thinking I’ve gone a little weird with some of the text above, all I’ll say is that both Stuart and Jim are huge fans of a legendary British comedy series from the 80’s and spent a large part of the training quoting it to each other, so there had to be a few references to it above 😉)

As dawn broke over Andover this morning, Dean Hardy began the journey to Salisbury for his Mod 2 test. Dean put in a superb performance and came away without a single rider error and his Mod 2 certificate. Congratulations Dean! Time to start saving for that new bike…maybe a trip to the bike show at the NEC next month will help you decide what it is you’d like to get. Whatever and whenever you get your bike, enjoy!

During our early morning ride to Salisbury on the 14th of October, once again Martin Boyd was cursed with huge traffic jams (his Mod 1 was cancelled after we got stuck in grid-locked traffic on the way to the Greenham test centre, although we did manage to overtake the examiner stuck in his car, with a bit of advanced filtering 😉) but luckily it was just the usual rush hour traffic that held us up. Martin was not phased and put in a great ride for the Salisbury examiner and came away with his Mod 2 certificate.
Once we were back to base, Martin headed off to insure his Bandit and put his new A licence to good use. Congratulations Martin and enjoy!

It was an early morning run to Salisbury for Phil 'Vortex' Humphrey and Dan Dickinson on the 6th of October.
It was one of those mornings where you know Autumn has arrived, a proper chill in the air.
We've had the pleasure of seeing Phil go from getting his CBT to now having his full A-licence. Congratulations Phil, enjoy your Bandit.
Dan came to us with his Mod 1 certificate, having passed back in December 2021 in Bristol, but life got in the way so it was only now he'd had chance to get to do his Mod 2. Life's going to get in the way again and Dan needs to sort out a house move before he can get his new bike. Whatever bike you get and whenever you get it Dan, enjoy.

On to the 7th of September and it was a trip to Greenham for Jarod Rimondi and Ryan McNeilly. Afternoon tests, so no early get-ups this time, which is always welcome.
Both Jarod and Ryan put in a good solid performance for the examiner and he was pleased to be able to give them their Mod 2 certificates.
We hope you made the most of the (largely) nice early Autumn weather and got some miles in your saddles before the nights began to draw in.
Congratulations both, we're proud to have been a part of your riding journey.

Moving on to the 1st of September, we were back at Greenham for our tests and first of the month was Kelly Caswell-Treen.
Kelly had worn the perfect shirt for her Mod 2, not only a great biker shirt but a useful reminder if your mind goes blank on test...but no fear of that, Kelly put in a solid ride for the examiner and came away with her Mod 2 certificate and a full A licence.
Kelly plans to wait until the next year to get her new bike but she already knows what she wants, it's going to be a Harley!

It was back up to Salisbury again on the afternoon of the 26th of August, this time for Callum Byers' Mod 2 test.
Callum gave firstly Stuart and then the examiner a superb ride on the way to and during his test, so being awarded his Mod 2 certificate and full A licence was a no-brainer.
Congratulations Callum, keep riding like that and enjoy your time in the saddle.

It was an early morning run to Salisbury for Matt Chant's Mod 2 on the 26th of August. Matt had great weather for his test (as you can tell from the glare in the photo!) and put in a similarly great ride for the examiner, riding away with his Mod 2 and A-licence. Matt seemed to ride a little quicker (within the speed limits, of course) on the way back, as he was super keen to get home to his Aprilia that was waiting for him. Hope you've been enjoying your bike Matt, congratulations for getting your licence.

A patient but very keen Marcin Demianiuk took his Mod 2 test in Salisbury on the 25th of August. You may remember me thanking a previous student for stepping into a last minute Mod 2 test slot because another of our students had his flight cancelled and couldn't get back home in time for his test....well that was Marcin!
Marcin put in a solid ride for the examiner, demonstrating he was a safe road user, and so walked away with his A-licence.
Marcin, congratulations, we're very pleased we managed to get you to test in the end and we hope you're enjoying riding your BMW.
P.S. Thanks for the beer 🍻

Time to start the catch-up on our student's successes during the last few months, and it's been non-stop!
We're back to the 11th of August and a run up to Greenham for two early afternoon tests, one for Nathan Base and another for Dave Harmon.
Dave and Nathan had a glorious sunny day with beautiful blue skies, perfect riding weather to (try and) relax into a Mod 2 ride. It obviously did the trick as both Dave and Nathan went home with their full bike licences. Congratulations both, we hope you got to enjoy lots more riding during the summer.

On Wednesday we took a trip to Greenham with Tom Elliot for his Mod 2. Tom came to us a couple of months ago to do his CBT, along with his friend Nathan, who both then continued with us on their DAS journey. Tom put in a great performance, with zero rider errors, and walked away with his A licence. Tom hasn’t decided on his bike yet, so enjoy the search Tom and congratulations on joining the biking community.
