So far, we're at 240hp at 4900rpm. It runs super smooth. Wastegate will be fixed soon.

For those of you who don't follow me on Instagram, with a little motivation and help from Beytek the £95 (when it was new) TD04 15T turbo is now fitted. Guess what, not even a whiff of smoke. Dyno run incoming...

Here's some launch control.

Been chasing oil burning on this car for some time. the turbo was checked months ago but had no play in it, so as time went on I didn't check it again as the oil burning appeared to be intermittent after a catch tank was fitted. Genuine parts and it's brand new, why would I keep checking it? Well there you go... identical setup to my other turbo cars I've had too. cheers to Gav aka beytek for getting a face full of oil on my behalf 😆

Sending away an oil sample as well for potential extra clues.

So, no dyno run today. time to fit the ol' reliable china TD04-15g I have to get the car up and running while I attempt to get warranty from Garrett.

A disappointing day.

take 3, after a few issues with cam seals we're ready for dyno day tomorrow to help dial it in a wee bit. it's a wee bit handful when it comes on boost.

I should probably build this spec for my own car!

I wonder how much power we'll make. 1.4 16v with gbc 22-350. Nae race fuel here (nor is it needed for the target power).

Not a bad wee job for a Saturday, fixing some wiring (just the chassis plugs and nothing else, as the loom was already fitted) on this 16v swapped S1 106. I'm not sure what the story was, so I investigated it as if it was a blank canvas. Thankfully it's a 106 S1 interior loom and a 106 GTi single plug loom so no change was required to the pinout on the chassis plug at all for the important stuff to work. One additional wire was added and 2 new battery terminals (Halfords ones supplied by customer which I had never used before but was surprised by them), turned key with a spray of fuel down the intake and it started up no problem.

I did break the fuel pump pipe, they're unbelievably brittle but I have supplied an S1 pump which I have spare and will be posted shortly along with some fuel lines. So hopefully once that's in, it will stay running.

No need to point out the upper rad hose, I can see it.

Next job on the list later this week is to help a local Citroen AX GTi with a 16v swap in a similar situation 🤷‍♂️😆

Small preview of a 1360cc 16v TU3 iron block engine I've been building up for James taken this morning. I vastly underestimated the work needed to get this going, but we're on the home straight now! 😎 Fluids are all in and wiring is completed in the bay - of course using MaxxECU Sport. Will easily make competitive power for the intended up to 2000cc NA (1428cc turbo) class for hillclimbing.

The race car should also be practical, nice steep hills giving the 1.3 16v a good workout. Interesting going over the MaxxECU logs but nothing outrageous occurring. Coolant temps nice and stable too.

Room for more power. I am assembling a second 1.3 version right after I finish with another turbo engine 😁

Had the opportunity to get the 1.3 16v back on the dyno today. Spec is now:
Standard MFZ (1294cc) bottom end (pistons rods etc all of it)
Standard J4 cylinder head and cams
Standard cast exhaust manifold and it's steel downpipe.
2" scorpion pugsport
Gsxr 750 throttle bodies with J4 injectors.

With the standard intake we made 116hp, with the itbs we increased power everywhere above 3000rpm reaching a peak of 122hp.

We also lent a hand to beytek with his 1.6 Rallye which made bang on my estimate of 155-160 given it's spec. It's no slouch! There's more in it, but we reckon there's an issue with the lifters draining at high rpm and not giving us enough valve lift. We had a few very inconsistent runs in the high rpm areas. At really falls off about 66/6700 rpm.

We also stayed late until 10pm to help operate the Dyno for Ian Bonthrones E92 M3 which is misbehaving!

1.4 J4 Turbo updates coming soon too, a other 1.1 8v turbo and maybe I'll get the 1.5 Dturbo off the pallet.

Will respond to messages in the morning! 😅 Sleep time.

A nice wee midweek wiring job to replace the lighting harness connector on a 1994 106 Rallye with DT type connector for BeyTek. Just needs secured neatly now after a bit of loom taping.
