Hub Centric vs. Lug Centric balancing

Hub centric balancing is the most common, as it is fast and quick. However, older cars/trucks may have more variances in the wheel and tyre combination, so mounting the wheel assembly to the balancer by the hub could give a false runout or balance reading. It truly matters in how smooth your vehicle drives down the road. For custom and specialist tyres and wheels, we suggest Lug Centric balancing, which requires a special attachment that fits into the lug holes instead of the hub. This provides a more accurate reading that will give you a better result on the road and paired with our Hunter Road Force Balancer you cannot get any smoother ride.
