The MG Midget Register Founded in March 1980, the Midget Register of the MG Car Club exists to support Spridget owners worldwide. Sign up to our newsletter

The MG Midget Register is that section of the MG Car Club catering for MG Midget and Austin Healey Sprite models built between 1958 and 1979. The objectives of the Register are:

a) To maintain a register of surviving cars, recording their history and other relevant information;
b) To encourage the continuing use of MG Midgets and AH Sprites, both on the road and in competition;
c) To organise and

assist others in organising competitive and social events;
d) To provide technical advice, and encourage the exchange of spare parts and information;
e) To make available where possible, copies of original Midget and Sprite literature and other material, from the Register's library.

Really saddened to share this news of Ian Beningfield's sad passing.

Apart from being a great bloke, he was focused on pushing his MG Midget to the limit on speed events, then mending it when he broke it!

He will be missed by the MG community and we pass our condolances to his family and everyone he touched. RIP Ian

The SW Centre has lost another stalwart. Ian Beningfield, past Chair, accomplished organiser and clubman, active competitor and friend to many of us sadly passed earlier this week. The SW Centre sends condolences to Ian's family, friends and anyone who knew him. RIP Ian, we will miss you 😢
