Mike Authers is a Specialist in MG Midgets and Austin Healey Sprites Mike has been an MG Specialist since 1982.

Having been brought up in Abingdon since the age of six I was always surrounded by MG's. Abingdon was the home of MG's and had a massive part to play in local lives and history. Mike has been specialising in Midgets and Austin Healey Sprites for many years and is known worldwide as an expert on these models. Having supplied cars to many far flung countries Mike is renowned for the high quality restored cars he sells.

Stunning 1972/L MG Midget MkIII 1275cc in Bronze Yellow.
Round wheel arch model subject to 4 year Concours quality restoration.

Body stripped to a bare shell and fully restored with
• New floorpans, A posts, Full front panel, Bonnet, Inner and outer sills, Lower front wing replacement, Nose cone.
All work was undertaken by Classic workshop in Headcorn, Kent

The engine has been professionally fully rebuilt as has the gearbox and rear differential. The brake, clutch, suspension, cooling and hydraulics were replaced as was the fuel system which was also completely refurbished from a new tank, all new fuel lines and refurbished carburettors.

A new Autosparks loom was fitted professionally together with new hood, carpets and interior trim. The seats were stripped back to bare metal, primed and painted and then fitted with new cushions and seat covers.
Original Rostyle wheels fully restored and new tyres fitted.
New stainless steel exhaust system fitted.

The door glass is new, the windscreen surround and Quarter lights were also refurbished professionally as were the dash, gauges and switches.
This stunning Midget has recently been completed and has done less than 50 miles since.

1968/F MG Midget MkIII 1275cc in Black Tulip.

Full restoration using a new Heritage Bodyshell in 2006 costing over £14,000 back then and with only 1500 dry miles since.

The 1275cc Engine has an unleaded cylinder head. There’s a stainless steel sports exhaust fitted and it’s been upgraded to an Alternator. Inertia reel seat belts fitted.

It had 4 new Chrome wire wheels. The spare is an original wire wheel.

All new interior with the superior MG owners Club new leather sport seats with headrests that also recline. All new interior panels and carpets including a new mohair hood with a zip out rear window. These are all in excellent condition. There’s also a discreet Radio fitted above the parcel shell with a CD player in the boot. A Roll bar was fitted for safety which has a zipped cover on it. This can be removed if preferred as bolted in.

In the boot along with the spare and jack are a full tonneau and the hood cover for when it’s folded. There’s also a fitted cotton dust cover.

Recently passed an MOT with some advises which have now been attended to by us and given a full service. Tax free as Historic registered. £13,950

1965/C MG Midget MkII in remarkable original and unrestored condition.

This is a very genuine car that’s only covered 52,000 miles from new, with five previous owners.

Bought in 2013 from Brightwells Auctions who described it as:-

a superbly original car that was supplied new by Regent Motors of Cheltenham, the second owner was for 29 years, with original green log book. Apart from a stainless steel exhaust and a high quality repaint it is believed to be totally unrestored. A documented speedo change at 44,000 miles and just 8,000 miles since.

All correct Red interior plus Red hood and tonneau as supplied new.

Fully restored with a new British Heritage body shell, completed in 2002 with very little dry miles since.
Reconditioned unleaded engine and reconditioned gearbox.
In excellent condition throughout and absolutely no rust.
Extras include Wood rimmed Mota-Lita steering wheel and roll bar behind seats.
Inertia seat belts. Alternator conversion.
Chrome bumpers etc are in excellent condition. Original Rostyle wheels.

Will be serviced and come with a new MOT test.

1972/K MG Midget MkIII in Mallard Green. Round wheel arch model.
This is an excellent example which I’ve been driving myself and I can confirm it’s a great drivers car and pulls strongly, the last owner drove it to Le Mans.
Major restoration including rebuilt unleaded engine bored to 1310cc and fully balanced. All bodywork including replacement wings etc carried out professionally.
K and N air filters, long centre branch exhaust manifold.
Gearbox rebuilt.
Lumenition Optronic ignition.
Original Rostyle wheels were shot blasted and power coated.
New Battery last year.
Last owner for 25 years.
Will be serviced and have a new 12 months MOT.

Full restoration in 2006 using a new British Motor Heritage body-shell so absolutely no rust.
Virtually every component was changed for new or restored to make this Midget as close to buying a new car as possible. So all new brakes and suspension.
1275cc engine totally rebuilt for unleaded and with a Kent 266 cam. Gearbox rebuilt.
All new interior with Black leather seats. New hood and tonneau.

This really is a stunning showroom condition car, I’ve known it since 2006 as it was a friend of mine and his mechanic that rebuilt it.
