Completely Motoring Limited, Thunder Road Motorcycles Limited and John Wilkins (Motor Engineers) Limited all enter administration

Urgent call for buyer to save leading new and used vehicle group

Completely Motoring Limited, a leading new and used vehicle company which owns John Wilkins (Motor Engineers) Ltd and Thunder Road Motorcycles Ltd have all entered administration on 10 October 2024.

Jonathan Amor, licenced Insolvency Practitioner with UK top ten accounting and advisory firm Azets, has been appointed Joint Administrator along with Matthew Richards of Azets and Alessandro Sidoli of Xeinadin Corporate Recovery Limited. The Joint Administrators are urging interested parties to make contact as soon as possible to maximise the chances of securing the future of the £70 million turnover group.

In total, the group employs 165 people across 14 showrooms and 11 locations spanning Wales and the South West of England.

Joint Administrator Jonathan Amor, a Restructuring Partner at Azets, said:

“The Group has encountered financial difficulties after a poor Summer sales period. As a result, the Group has been placed into administration to protect it. We are exploring sale options with interested parties.

“We have received several expressions of interest and we urge any other parties to make contact as soon as possible, with a view to securing a future for the Group and saving as much of the business, and as many jobs, as possible.”

Steve, one of our Abergele Sales team has just returned from a long weekend Multistrada adventure in Scotland, here's what he had to say about the break!

"Sept 12: Left St Asaph at 0745 in very wet weather and joined the M6 after a hearty breakfast, the biblical rain continued to Preston then sun all the way to Wemyss Bay for the ferry port to Bute for the first night. Didn't get to eat at the Hotel until 1945, shattered!"

"Sept 13: The weather forecast today was rain. But... the weather gods were obviously looking after us. Loads of sun and good temperatures most of the day with a little cloud. It did rain but after we returned to the hotel - bonus!!! Route today was Bute and return to the same hotel. Four ferries and some wonderful roads, the furthest destination was the lighthouse at the tip of Mull of Kintyre. Ferries we used were at Collintrave and Tarbert. Outward and return, some 160 miles in total. A rude awakening moment was the fire alarm at the Hotel at 4am!"

"Sept 14: Bute to Irvine. Heavy, overcast skies and threatening rain, with already wet roads following heavy overnight downpours. Two Multistradas, a 1290 KTM and a BMW R1250GS and including two ferry crossings at Collintrave and Dunoon. Some single track roads, exploring off the grid so to speak with superb views but grass in the centre of the roads and loads of gravel! The rain held off until a heavy deluge whilst on the last ferry. Quite an interesting crossing as the wind picked up with decent sized waves giving the pilot a few control problems! Left Bute around 10am and arrived in Irvine about 4pm. "

"Sept 15: Long ride back to base, I can say that the trip to Scotland was short but with great roads, good food and excellent company, it was a brilliant time."
