Amazing encounter with Aberdeen's famous bottlenose dolphins today. These incredible animals are part of Scotland's resident east coast population and came right over to bow-ride alongside our boat. Watching them surf the wake, play and leap through the North Sea was something most wont forget. 🐬🌊

The dolphins you see around Aberdeen are bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), part of the famous east coast Scottish population that ranges from the Moray Firth down past Aberdeen and sometimes as far south as northeast England. Researchers have confirmed that the dolphins seen off Aberdeen belong to this wider population
