ENG - Among the most sought-after Porsche 356 models, the Speedster was designed as a lightweight, affordable sports car to rival British roadsters. Equipped with a 1,582 cm³ flat-four engine producing 60 bhp, this early example appears to have spent most of its life in Monaco before joining the collection of a renowned Porsche enthusiast in 2015. ENG - In the aftermath of the Second World War, Alfa Romeo struggled to get back on the racing circuit in earnest. Despite the lack of a proper motorsport programme in the mid-1950s, the Milan-based firm unveiled a lighter version of the Giulietta Sprint in April 1954… a sort of 1950s ‘Customer Competition’! Thanks to this, Alfa Romeo was represented at numerous circuits and races, such as the Tour de France Automobile, the Mille Miglia and the Targa Florio, to name but a few!

The modified Giulietta was christened the Giulietta Sprint Veloce Alleggerita, and only a handful of examples were produced (200 according to the most reliable sources, of which 40 still survive!). The modifications included: aluminium doors and bumpers, the replacement of wind-up windows with sliding ones, a magnesium oil sump and intake manifold, and the removal of the rear seats and sound-deadening materials…

According to its certificate of origin, this Alfa Romeo was delivered in Paris in November 1956 in its elegant ‘Azzurro Nube’ colour. After several French owners, it was registered to Pensier in July 1962, who competed with the car in the 9th Rallye du Var!

In 1968, the Alfa found its way to a garage in Isère, where it remained until 2007. A restoration began that year and was completed nearly a decade later by a connoisseur of fine Italian cars. Restored to its original condition, the car went on to participate in the 2020 Mille Miglia before joining another major collection in 2021.

Today, the car is in excellent overall condition and has just undergone extensive engine sealing work. This authentic Giulietta Sprint Veloce Alleggerita with a crystal-clear history is without a doubt the perfect choice for an enthusiast seeking a superb car to race in historic events!

ENG - In 1961, a certain Carroll Shelby – a Le Mans 24 Hours winner and maverick engineer – approached AC Cars in England, whose recent racing results were more than encouraging. The aim: to fit a 3.6-litre Ford V8 onto the AC Ace chassis. The base chassis were sent to the United States, and the major conversion began… As soon as the third car rolled out of the workshop, the brand-new Cobra was entered into a race – and proved a success.

Of the hundred units included in the initial contract between AC and Carroll Shelby, the final 25 were fitted with a bored-out version of the 4.2-litre V8, increased to 4.7 litres, or 289 ci. The legend was born… The Cobra series would culminate with the 427, the crowning glory of the production run!

Founded in the 1970s by Brian Angliss, Autokraft began by remanufacturing Cobra parts before eventually producing complete cars using original AC moulds and tooling. So faithful were these recreations that, from 1986, Autokraft received approval from AC Cars and its cars were included in the official Shelby registers.

Our example was produced in May 1989 in a blue and beige colour scheme. An extremely rare feature is its 427 ci engine, paired with a 4-speed Top Loader gearbox and a Salisbury rear axle – reportedly fitted to just 10 cars produced by Autokraft!

Currently in an excellent overall condition, with a recent change in upholstery fro beige to black, this is a rare chance to acquire a Cobra that is true to the original, registered in the official records, ready to hit the road and, above all, fitted with the legendary 427 ci V8 – all for a quarter of the price of an authentic one!
