THE PORSCHE CAYENNE REINVENTED BY MARK ZUCKERBERG

Although the Cayenne has been one of the most sought-after luxury SUVs on the market since its launch in 2002, some clients have felt that the cabin simply didn't offer enough space. Enter Mark Zuckerberg, who, with the help of West Coast Customs, requested that his Cayenne be transformed into a minivan. To rise to the challenge, the customisation firm stretched the chassis, added electric sliding doors and completely redesigned the interior. The result is surprisingly successful, and might even give the brand a few ideas.

MCMURTRY SPÉIRLING: A BREATHTAKING FEAT

Already the holder of numerous acceleration and speed records, the small British hypercar decided this time to defy gravity itself. Placed on a structure tilted at 180 degrees, the Spéirling literally clung to the surface and even managed to inch forward. The feat was made possible by a rear-mounted fan generating 2,000 kg of downforce at a standstill, a technical achievement and a world first worthy of recognition… however entirely pointless.

THE NISSAN GT-R SAGA: 50 YEARS OF EVOLUTION

First appearing in 1969 under the Skyline GT-R name, the Nissan GT-R was built with one purpose in mind: performance. It quickly established itself as a benchmark on Japanese circuits, earning the nickname "Godzilla" in its R32 form. Generation after generation followed, from the legendary RB26DETT engine to the explosive R34, before the R35 broke away from the lineage in 2007 and brought the GT-R to a wider audience. Twin-turbocharged V6, dual-clutch gearbox, the GT-R shed the Skyline name and entered a new dimension entirely. To this day, it remains the embodiment of Japan's obsession with mechanical perfection.

FIAT PANDA 4X4 MONSTER TRUCK

Rest assured, this beast won't be overtaking you on the motorway. This Fiat Panda 4x4 in Monster Truck form is a one-of-a-kind creation, kept safe and sound at the Heritage HUB museum in Turin. Mounted on a Jeep CJ7 chassis and riding on wheels measuring 150 cm in diameter, this extraordinary Panda was dreamt up by advertising agency Leo Burnett to mark the launch of the new model. Fiat reportedly took just two weeks to build the thing, a decidedly XXL way of getting people talking about their Panda.

UGO ZAGATO, THE COACHBUILDER WHO CAME FROM THE SKIES

Ugo Zagato was born in 1890 in Gavello, near Bologna. After an early career in the metalworking industry in Germany, he joined the Pomilio aeronautical workshops in Turin in 1915. In 1919, he founded the Carrozzeria Ugo Zagato & Co. in Milan, bringing to the automotive world techniques borrowed from aviation: lightweight structures and aerodynamic efficiency. His coachwork, clothing the likes of Alfa Romeo, Fiat, MG, Abarth and Ferrari, stood out for both its performance and its elegance. Throughout the 1930s, Zagato-bodied cars claimed 8 Mille Miglia victories, 4 Targa Florio wins and 4 editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, cementing the Zagato name on the European racing scene.

JOHNNY HALLYDAY AND HIS GILLET VERTIGO

A devoted motorcycle enthusiast, Johnny Hallyday was above all a man in love with beautiful machines. His first car, a Triumph TR3, was given to him before he even held a driving licence, the beginning of a consuming passion. Among his many prized vehicles, Johnny Hallyday acquired a very special Gillet Vertigo. Unveiled in 1992, the Vertigo is a Belgian-engineered car inspired by the Donkervoort. In 1994, it claimed the world acceleration record, reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.266 seconds. Of the 28 examples ever built, Johnny Hallyday's is without doubt the most extravagant.
