Tyrrell introduced a new, more angular and compact F1 design. Two were built; 005, ready for team leader and defending World Champion Jackie Stewart in July, and 006 used by Francois Cevert from the Canadian Grand Prix at the end of September.

Two legends together Dennis Jenkinson and Stirling Moss when Jenks was co-driver occurred in the 1955 Mille Miglia, where he piloted a Mercedes 300 SLR with what is considered the best motor journalist in history, Dennis Jenkinson, as co-driver.
