This Mercedes 722.8 CVT TCM/TCU is an extremely common problem for A-Class and B-Class models.

When the Transmission ECU fails, the vehicle will experience a loss of power, limp mode, and poor to limited gear selection. A warning message will also be displayed on the dash: Transmission Visit workshop.

0730 - The gear ratio in the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is not allowed
1634 - Component Y3/9N1 (CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission) control unit) is faulty or voltage supply is faulty

P 0722 - The rpm signal from component Y3/9b5 (CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission) output rpm sensor) is not available.
P 0896 - Illegal adjustment of the reduction ratio in the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
P 0793 - The rpm signal from component Y3/9b4 (CVT (continuously variable automatic transmission) secondary rpm sensor) is not available.
P 0730 - The gear ratio in the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is not allowed.
P 2722 - Impermissible closure of the 'Reverse' hydraulic brake on the Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) occurred when the selector lever 'N' was engaged.
0705 – Component Y3/9b1 (CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)) select range sensor is faulty

Important: After installation, recorded history trouble codes must be cleared with the original STAR tester or equivalent

The process takes 1 to 2 business days.
Not all modules are repairable and unfortunately, some of them are damaged beyond the point of repair.
Send in your original TCM, DO NOT send in "replacement" or "scrap" units, they will require SCN coding.
DO NOT SHIP valve body as it will increase shipping costs.
Your mechanic's responsibility is to identify the problem in the Transmission Control Module.
