Official Team’s Statement
This year, Formula USAL will ultimately not participate in Formula Student Spain as a competing team. To compete in Barcelona, a video of the race car in motion must be submitted, and at this stage, we are not yet able to do so.
At the start of the season, drawing on lessons learned from the 2025 competition, we decided to reorganize the team and begin developing a new prototype. From the outset, we were clear that we did not want to rush the process simply to make it to Barcelona; instead, we wanted to devote the necessary time to each task to build the car exactly as we envisioned.
We prioritized doing things right over showing up with a makeshift solution just for the sake of participating. Any other approach would have forced us to rush tasks, lacking the necessary dedication and understanding, potentially leading to cost overruns and compromising our main goal for the season: establishing a robust operational structure and developing a reliable prototype.
The aim is that, once this foundation is in place, we can focus our efforts in future seasons on evolving the race car and developing further improvements.
Our participation in Formula Student Portugal (Category 2) allowed us to validate the work done this season, receive feedback from the judges, and confirm that we are moving in the right direction.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all our sponsors and everyone who has collaborated on the project and supported us throughout. All the work accomplished has been, and continues to be, fundamental to our continued progress and the completion of our race car.
