👵👴 Drivers over 65 — a change to your licence renewal worth knowing about.

From 2026, if you were born before 1961, your Spanish driving licence now renews every 5 years instead of the previous 10. Each renewal includes the usual medical and reflex check at a certified driver-health centre (centro de reconocimiento).

The reassuring part: there's still no upper age limit to drive in Spain. 🚗

👉 Not sure when yours is due? Check the expiry date on your licence card — and if it's coming up, book your medical check early to avoid a last-minute rush.
