Unlike the UK system, where penalty points are added to your licence, Spain works the other way around!
🇪🇸 Drivers with Spanish licences generally start with 12 points, and points are 𝗗𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 for certain offences.
🔹 New drivers start with 8 points.
🔹 Experienced drivers can build their balance up to 15 points through good driving.
🔹 Speeding offences can cost you 2, 4 or 6 points, depending on their severity.
🔹 Lose all your points and you risk losing your licence!

Even a relatively small excess is still an offence. Radar measurement tolerances are a separate matter and aren't permission to drive faster.

💬 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨!
𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻'𝘀 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿? Should drivers lose points for ANY speeding offence, or is it reasonable that smaller offences attract a fine without points?
