Monday Marine Maintenance - unfortunately the client broke down on Friday evening achored off Estepona with a non start. After getting a tow back from Estepona Salvamento marítimo at 1am!

Monday morning first job was to test both batteries which were found unserviceable then carry out an alternator / charging test this was found to be only charging at 12.6V not 14v for good measure we added a decent Ferve battery optimiser keeping the new batteries maintained automatically on portside when the boat isn't in use, and we're sourcing a new Alternator asap 🏁

Monday morning call out on this 1999 Ibiza 1.0 crank no start. Now diagnosed to high resistance on the fuel pump circuit the fuse hadn't blown but loosened off over time and then started to melt due to the fusebox not being clipped back in previously. Now starts and drives an in line fuse holder to be installed🏁

Call out to non start Audi Q5 2.0 TDI. Asking the client some questions and listening diagnosed this one without even opening the bonnet. 200k on the original injector seals and the first two had loosened off and then lost compression on pots 1 and 2. We opted to remove all 4 injectors 3 and 4 with a fight! And prep head then fit fully reconditioned units, code them in adjust any minimum quantities and we are good to go. 🏁

Call-out to this 6C Polo 3-cylinder, which had arrived in limp mode.

Our checks found a split charge pipe along with a failed oil control solenoid. The client was hoping to make the journey to the airport tomorrow, but we gave firm advice not to drive the vehicle in its current condition.

A vehicle running in limp/derate mode can be a serious risk to the driver and other road users, and with an oil control fault also present, there is the added concern of potential oil pressure issues and further engine damage.

The safest option is to repair the vehicle next week before it goes back on the road.

VW 1.6 CAYD EA189, 2011- TDI engine having a new oil pump wet belt and pickup pipe after customers complaint of intermittent then regular oil pressure warning on the dash. No oil pressure test required just straight off with the sump taking swift action and saving it from catastrophic damage mechanically and financially! 🏁

2005 Porsche Cayenne 9PA rear door lock replacement. Customer complaint was difficulty in opening the door or sometimes wouldn't unlock or lock correctly. Funnily enough a common fault on the VW touareg of the same year's. A stunning example that the client wants keeping in top condition..🏁
