This 76 foot steel Canadian Expedition Yacht launched in 2005 is a heavy duty Ocean Trawler that can withstand the harshest environments.
She features a bulbous reinforced steel hull made to exceed Canadian ship regulations set by ABS, the company that classes Canadian Coast Guard ships.
In addition, she has been recently equipped with a brand new Seakeeper 16 Gyroscopic Stabilizer that eliminates up to 90% roll motion at anchor as well as while cruising.
The engines are heavy duty John Deere 8.1 liter PowerTechs with 330hp each that propel the boat to a top speed of about 12knots. The fuel capacity exceeds 20.000 liters and the range can exceed 5000NM cruising at 8-9 knots. Main engine hours are currently 2700h and there is a service record available.
Generators are Onan, 21.5kW at port side with only 900 hours and 11.5kW at starboard side. AC power can be 125 or 230v but most appliances on board use 125v. There are several fridges and freezers on board as well as a watermaker to allow for long-range cruising.
The interior offers high quality wood work and finishes but mainly focusing on practicality and durability rather than luxury or exclusivity. The master stateroom is located aft and there are two other cabins for guests sharing a bathroom at the bow. There are no crew cabins on this boat although they can be easily added by modifying some of the spaces available, like the laundry room or the bridge seating area.
The flybridge and aft deck areas are very spacious and there is a Vanguard rescue boat with a 25hp engine that can be lowered using a crane. There is an additional aluminium dinghy that came with the boat originally.
What makes this yacht unique is how tough she was built, the fact that she can withstand extreme weather, cold and even icy conditions, the long range, low consumption, the stabilizer and spaciousness throughout.
This boat can be refitted and upgraded to become a luxury yacht or she can be ideal for offshore scientific research, oil rigs, fishing or even military purposes.
